The Sterile Processing Equipment Technician is responsible for the collection, cleaning, decontamination and disinfection of reusable medical devices and patient care equipment according to established standards and procedures. Other responsibilities include restocking of procedure carts, filling requests for medical/surgical supplies, procedure trays and patient equipment and assisting with department inventory management. The Sterile Processing Equipment Technician must have an understanding of Infection Prevention principles and standards.
