Title: Childcare Center Director

Primary Function:
The Childcare Center Director is responsible for the supervision, operation and maintenance of the Childcare Center The Director must plan, organize, implement, coordinate, and control the services of the childcare program, exercising good judgment and decision-making authority as delegated, including budget, policies, procedure, and staff supervision. Under general supervision, the Director operates the childcare program to conform with school system regulations and state daycare licensing provisions.
Educational Level: High School Diploma
Certification/Licensing: Must be able to be certified as a Director of a child care center per DECAL regulations. Must have all CPR and FirstAid certifications
Proficiency Skills: Written and oral communication skills, administrative, supervisory and leadership skills. Ability to deal with multiple tasks, computer competence, organizational and interpersonal skills.
Personal Skills: Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills and stamina to perform essential duties.
Salary: CCSS Classified Salary Schedule – Pay Grade A11 (Start pay $14.15 max pay $23.36) Steps are awarded based on verifiable experience. 240 day position (12 month) plus $10,000 responsibility supplement.

13.Plans and implements Childcare Center budget according to system guidelines and procedures.
14.Evaluate and purchase material, equipment and supplies and ensure expenditures are within approved limits.
15.Monitors compliance with policies and laws concerning area of responsibility.
16.Enhances the climate of the building and the morale of colleagues.
17.Demonstrates loyalty to the school system and administration.
18.Ensures a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children.
19.Manage and coordinate curricula with staff that complies with state and federal requirements.
20.Ensure that center facilities are safe for children and comply with laws and regulations
21.Interview, hire, and train new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements.
22.Performs other duties as assigned.
