Data Center Director directs and optimizes all operations of a data center facility to ensure data performance, availability, and security. Designs operating procedures and policies for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networks, and storage systems within a data center to maximize operational efficiency. Being a Data Center Director monitors environmental conditions to ensure optimal temperature, humidity, and power supply to prevent downtime and protect hardware from damage. Ensures timely, accurate, and consistent technical infrastructure service and presentation to internal and external clients. Additionally, Data Center Director coordinates with outside teams to identify and implement new systems to support existing and future business needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Data Center Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Data Center Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • Job Summary: This position is responsible for the assistance in the design, implementation, maintenance and support of the cloud computing environment supporting internal and external customer platforms.  


    Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

     

    • Assist in the implementation architectures for creating and provisioning dynamic cloud-based systems.
    • Assist in the configuration, implementation, support and maintains customer cloud computing environments.
    • Ensures the overall health and performance of  virtual services.
    • Acts as the secondary design and technical support for customer base.
    • Possesses analytical and troubleshooting skills.  Can proactively identifies trends, determines incident root causes, and manages adverse events from identification to resolution.
    • Acts as the secondary network administrator for the data center and cloud computing environments.
    • Possesses knowledge of multiple operating systems and acts as a systems administration.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with customers and all levels of management and staff.    Possesses the ability to translate complicated technical issues for a non-technical audience.
    • Provides after-hours support for infrastructure related emergencies as well scheduled maintenance.
    • Assists the Sr. Data Center Engineer in hardware and software vendor evaluations and recommendations.
    • Acts as a sales engineer as required.
    • Assists with SOC compliance audits.
    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 


    Education/Experience


    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent discipline; or equivalent work experience.
    • Possess cloud related certifications such as VCP, VCPAP, VCPD, or related.
    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with enterprise-level cloud-based distributed design. 


    Physical Demands


    • Sits at desk most of working day.
    • Stands and walks short distances in office.
    • Handles books, papers, and office equipment.
    • May be required to lift and carry weights up to 35 pounds. 


    Special Demands


    Will require irregular hours.
