Data Center Director directs and optimizes all operations of a data center facility to ensure data performance, availability, and security. Designs operating procedures and policies for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networks, and storage systems within a data center to maximize operational efficiency. Being a Data Center Director monitors environmental conditions to ensure optimal temperature, humidity, and power supply to prevent downtime and protect hardware from damage. Ensures timely, accurate, and consistent technical infrastructure service and presentation to internal and external clients. Additionally, Data Center Director coordinates with outside teams to identify and implement new systems to support existing and future business needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Data Center Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Data Center Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.   • SUMMARY:

    Responsible for the successful overall management of the Convenience Store (C-Store), through development and direction of Travel Center Operations, in accordance with company policies, budgets, procedures and specifications.


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Maintains appropriate staffing levels in the C-Store, by interviewing, selecting, training, scheduling, evaluating, promoting, disciplining and terminating Employees, as needed.
    • Provides customer-service-related assistance in the C-Store, such as assisting customers with selection and/or purchase, handling exchanges, redeeming complimentaries, and giving directions to various areas of the property.
    • Conducts monthly inventory of C-Store merchandise.
    • Ascertains that merchandise in the C-Store is accurately inventoried and displayed to its' best advantage.
    • Utilizing effective communication skills, creatively resolves problems in the C-Store.
    • Responds to special requests of customers, as well as customer complaints and inquiries in a calm, prompt, courteous manner.
    • Ensures a maximum level of customer service and satisfaction in the C-Store is achieved.
    • Facilitates the flow of information, by organizing and presiding over regularly scheduled departmental meetings with all C-Store Cashiers and Fuel Attendants.
    • Meets with prospective Vendors as deemed necessary, and makes recommendations to the General Manager as to variety of merchandise stocked and displayed.
    • Held accountable, to a high degree, for the accuracy and thoroughness of departmental records and reports.
    • Responsible for maintaining a consistent, regular attendance record.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Directly supervises subordinate Managers/Supervisors, indirectly supervises Employees in the C-Store.

    Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

    Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

    SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    Must possess excellent communication and organizational skills. Three to five years retail experience required, with progressive supervisory/managerial experience.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Employees of company.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtracts, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    REASONING ABILITY:

    Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
