Data Center Director directs and optimizes all operations of a data center facility to ensure data performance, availability, and security. Designs operating procedures and policies for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networks, and storage systems within a data center to maximize operational efficiency. Being a Data Center Director monitors environmental conditions to ensure optimal temperature, humidity, and power supply to prevent downtime and protect hardware from damage. Ensures timely, accurate, and consistent technical infrastructure service and presentation to internal and external clients. Additionally, Data Center Director coordinates with outside teams to identify and implement new systems to support existing and future business needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Data Center Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Data Center Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     What You’ll do

    Our engineers are the foundation of success for our customers and our business. We are seeking a Senior Solutions Engineer with a Data Center focus to join our team Montana (Billings, Bozeman, Helena, MT preferred) or surrounding states (Idaho Falls, ID, Casper or Sheridan, WY, Bismarck, ND or Rapid City, SD).  This role will provide value for our clients in both pre-sales design and post-sales implementation. This role will perform the following responsibilities:

    • Collaborate with the sales team to build a winning strategy for our clients.
    • Perform necessary Pre-Sales technical functions to create systems designs.
    • Build Bill of Materials (BoM), create illustrations and diagrams and provide Statements of Work (SoW).
    • Relay technical information to both technical and non-technical staff.
    • Post-Sales Implementation of systems designed.
    • Produce post Implementation project documentation.
    • Provide proficient end-user systems administration training (post implementation) of CompuNet installed solutions.
    • Develop strategic relationships with our key manufacturer Partner SE's.

    • Listen to and address customer technical challenges and design the right solution that meets the customer business needs.
    • Ability to communicate on a high level regarding multiple technologies.
    • Relay technical information to both technical and non-technical staff.
    • Maintain existing certifications and grow to new areas with certification.

    • 8 years of experience is a plus
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and bring order to ambiguous situations
    • Ability to work on different projects in a simultaneous fashion (i.e. multiple customer projects in the same time period).
    • Ability to relay technical information to both technical and non-technical staff.
    • Exceptional problem solving and organizational skills.
    • Excellent time management and independent work skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Willing to travel 25-50% of the time depending on client needs
