Data Center Director jobs in Troy, NY

Data Center Director directs and optimizes all operations of a data center facility to ensure data performance, availability, and security. Designs operating procedures and policies for installing, configuring, and maintaining servers, networks, and storage systems within a data center to maximize operational efficiency. Being a Data Center Director monitors environmental conditions to ensure optimal temperature, humidity, and power supply to prevent downtime and protect hardware from damage. Ensures timely, accurate, and consistent technical infrastructure service and presentation to internal and external clients. Additionally, Data Center Director coordinates with outside teams to identify and implement new systems to support existing and future business needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Data Center Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Data Center Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Summary/Objective


    The Center Director will direct all center activities to ensure smooth and efficient operations for patient flow, patient care, and quality assurance.

    Essential Functions

    • Manage staff and direct all staff activities including, coordinating schedules and breaks, providing training and guidance, reviewing and approving bi-weekly timecards, conducting performance evaluations, etc.
    • Develop, implement, and administer procedures and best practices to streamline processes for center operations.
    • Provide ongoing training to staff to ensure that productivity and knowledge of the overall process are maintained and improved.
    • Manage and utilize staff to their fullest potential by motivating and challenging them to achieve results while offering developmental and educational opportunities to progress within the company.
    • Interview and hire candidates for open staff positions including technologist and office assistants.
    • Attend and participate in operations/manager meetings.
    • Oversee the use and maintenance of the equipment and facilities.
    • Maintain the center's budget by cost management and increase revenue through effective cash management.
    • Participate in and/or lead various projects as identified by management to support operations and quality patient care.

    Work Environment

    This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

    Required Education and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or combination of education and experience.

    Preferred Education and Experience
    • High proficiency of PC systems, tools, and applications.
