By joining the Kentucky Division of Abandoned Mine Lands, Central Branch, Section II as an Environmental Control Supervisor in Laurel County, you will have the opportunity to plan, assign and supervise the activities of an Environmental Control Section, and perform other duties as assigned.
Holders of the Environmental Control Supervisor position will complete tasks such as:
- Planning, assigning, coordinating, and supervising employees in the implementation of Abandoned Mine Land, Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Bond Forfeiture and other projects. Ensuring that section assignments meet and adhere to all Division, State and Federal Guidelines and Regulations.
- Providing oversight and guidance to employees. Reviewing and approving work of employees for consistency and accuracy. Ensuring compliance in ongoing projects. Training new employees. Approving leave requests and timesheets, and conducting performance appraisals.
- Reviewing and approving financial documentation related to projects and office activities. Supervising information management issues, as needed, to ensure efficient workflow within the section.
- Making recommendations to the Branch Manager regarding processes and/or procedures for an effective work environment. Reviewing technical, legal, and legislative documentation to ensure the provision of accurate information and appropriate decision making. Assisting in the development of projected annual project schedules.
- Serving as a technical advisor, relaying project status and technical recommendations to the Branch Manager. Acting as a leader in the implementation of community level projects. Serving as an expert witness. Completing other duties as assigned.
