Data Management Director manages the planning, designing, and developing of an organization's databases. Develops policies and procedures to lead and manage a team of database engineers. Being a Data Management Director designs and modifies procedures to ensure the performance, scalability, and security of databases. Monitors and optimizes database performance to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing. Additionally, Data Management Director evaluates existing database design to determine necessary updates and collaborates with stakeholders to determine future organizational needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Data Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Data Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Job Summary
    The Data Entry employees will supplement the ongoing processing and humanitarian efforts by U.S. Customs & Border Protection (CBP) officers.
    Employees will perform the following tasks:
    • Receiving migrants after they present themselves at a port of entry, storing, and tracking their personal property, and providing for their security and well-being while they are detained in Office of Field Operations (OFO) custody.
    • Drafting and maintaining administrative paperwork related to the processing of migrants in CBP custody, including reports concerning the transportation and deportation of detained migrants.
    • Logging information about detained migrants into CBP information systems, such as Unified Secondary (USEC), including the status of regular welfare checks and conditions in custody.
    • Arranging transport for detained migrants to immigration court proceedings and medical

    The Data Entry Contractors serve an explicitly civilian function. They are not involved in any law enforcement duties (i.e., interviewing migrants) and do not participate in immigration inspections or immigration processing.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    • Assist with receiving migrants at intake, storing, and tracking their personal property, and providing for their security and well-being while they are detained in CBP custody.
    • Drafting and maintaining administrative paperwork related to the processing of migrants in DHS/CBP custody, including reports concerning the transportation and deportation of detained migrants.
    • Logging information about detained migrants into DHS/CBP information systems, including the status of welfare checks and conditions in custody.
    • Coordinating DNA / CODIS collection from migrants.
    • Assisting with A-File accountability and case file assembly.
    • Witnessing pat downs conducted by officers.
    • Assist in feeding migrants.
    • Creating I-216 manifests
    • Linking family units and family groups in the appropriate processing system
    • Stocking inventory of basic needs for detainees (food, clothing, blankets, grooming products, bedding etc.)
    • Assist with I-862 (Notice to Appear) rejections sent by EOIR. Mailing out updated I-862 to EOIR.
    • Contact non-citizen family members for contact information confirmation (when issue arises)
    • Data entry in USEC
    • Updating the Detention Log with cell assignments and custodial actions (food, medical, phone calls, and other amenities)
    • Creating forms related to case processing (I-213, I-275, I-770, FD-249, FD-936, R-84, I-296, I-264, M-444 in USEC.

     
    Physical Requirements

    Work requires standing and walking during the entire workday, and frequent reaching, bending, and lifting.
     
    Work Environment

    Work is performed at a high-volume airport surge.
     
    Education and/or Experience
    • CANDIDATES MUST BE BILINGUAL (ENGLISH/SPANISH)
    • A high school qualification or equivalent.
    • Prior experience in a similar position
    • Must be able to pass pre-employment and background check.
    • Must be U.S. Citizen.
    • Must be able to multi-task, such as meeting deadlines while also responding to employee inquiries.
    • Must be skilled in operating personal computer and utilizing various software packages, such as, Microsoft (MS) Office applications such as MS Word and Excel to complete assignment.
    • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Must be able to deal with conflicts, confrontations, disagreements in a positive manner, which minimizes personal impact, to include controlling one’s feelings and reactions.
    • Must be able to deal effectively with others in both favorable and unfavorable situations regardless of status of position.
    • Must accept interpersonal and cultural diversity.
