Data Management Director manages the planning, designing, and developing of an organization's databases. Develops policies and procedures to lead and manage a team of database engineers. Being a Data Management Director designs and modifies procedures to ensure the performance, scalability, and security of databases. Monitors and optimizes database performance to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing. Additionally, Data Management Director evaluates existing database design to determine necessary updates and collaborates with stakeholders to determine future organizational needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Data Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Manager, Enterprise Data Management and Analytics

  • Under the leadership of the Chief Information Officer and Chief Technology Officer/Chief Information Security Officer, the Enterprise Data Management and Analytics (EDMA) Manager oversees the enterprise data lifecycle with the goal of improving and progressing the maturity, integrity, stability, and awareness of organization data assets and systems. This position oversees a team of Data Warehouse Analysts, Data Visualization Analysts and Data Systems/Database Administrators.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    • Develop strategies, roadmaps, and frameworks to help achieve the enterprise strategic vision for data capabilities and assets
    • Provide support for enterprise data governance with the goal to improve the visibility and value of, as well as trust in, enterprise data assets
    • Provide organization, guidance, and oversight for establishing and maintaining principles, role definitions, responsibilities, standards, procedures and accountability
    • Proactively champion the value of useful information as a strategic business asset and represent the EDMA program goals and objectives in meetings and to stakeholders
    • Engage with business stakeholders to promote adoption of data governance definitions, policies, and procedures
    • Facilitate and promote transparency around data lifecycle tasks and projects
    • Oversee management of project and request backlogs and ensure appropriate review and authorization for all significant and/or time-sensitive work efforts
    • Manage and modify processes as necessary to support seamless data access/integration as situations change, business models are updated, and/or exceptions arise
    • Identify opportunities, manage competing priorities, and connect resources and expertise between the business and technical areas of the enterprise
    • Serve as the enterprise Master Data SME
    • Facilitate coordination with Security and Compliance to ensure all projects account for and are aligned with requirements and best practices in these areas
    • Actively seek new technologies to streamline and automate manual data management processes; review current technology solutions and make recommendations based on fit with the organization's strategic vision

    Experience:

    At least 10 years of working experience in a master data management, architecture, quality, assurance, modeling or related role

    • Project and resource management experience; PMP or PMI-ACP certification a plus
    • Experience working in a Healthcare IT setting
    • Experience with written and oral communication to individuals and groups with varied technical backgrounds
    • 5 or more years of previous leadership experience;  IT management experience a plus

    Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field from an accredited college or university.  Equivalent experience may be substituted.
    • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline preferred.

    Licensure/Certification:

    Epic Cogito Project Manager certification required within 180 days of hire.
