Data Management Director manages the planning, designing, and developing of an organization's databases. Develops policies and procedures to lead and manage a team of database engineers. Being a Data Management Director designs and modifies procedures to ensure the performance, scalability, and security of databases. Additionally, Data Management Director evaluates existing database design to determine necessary updates and collaborates with stakeholders to determine future organizational needs. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Data Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.   • About this role:

    Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Management Director to lead Home Lending Business's Data Enablement and Business Intelligence team. The team is responsible for supporting Home Lending's key Strategic Initiatives through data, insights, and advanced analytics. This team enables and executes on the Home Lending data strategy, which is critical to drive actionable insights, and drive key business decisions.

    In this role, you will:
    • Manage team of highly skilled data analysts to enable data solutions across all Home Lending data domains, including Servicing, Retail and Capital Markets
    • Liaison between data product and technology team to enable and execute both short- and long-term Home Lending data strategy.
    • Develop, plan, and implement a business intelligence strategy, utilizing suite of tools that delivers optimal and efficient BI through coordination with business partners.
    • Partner with leadership within the Data, Insights & Analytics teams to establish and deliver the vision for the BI Analytics Platform
    • Lead and manage Data and BI team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
    • Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team.
    • Act as liaison working directly with the business data leaders, business and technology domain executives, and risk assessable unit owners to implement data controls associated with the production, distribution, and use of data within the domains as dictated by the Enterprise Data Risk and Control Framework.
    • Establish a process to identify and register new data sources and data sets, and identify alternative sourcing as needed.
    • Oversee data strategies. Ensuring efficient collection, storage, and analysis.
    • Implement data governance and enhance data quality.
    Required Qualifications, US:
    • 8 years of Data Management, Business Research, Analytics, or Project Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
    • 4 years of Management experience
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Technical data expertise to help drive technology and business teams towards an approved data strategy.
    • Ability to understand technical policy requirements to help support the implementation of data management policies across all parts of the business.
    • Strong understanding of modern data platforms and designs - data warehouse, data lake, lake house, etc
    • Home Lending Data or Lending data experience
    • Proven ability to communicate effectively, drive consensus, and influence outcomes at all levels across enterprise functions.
    • Strong project planning with demonstrated experience leading cross functional teams though significant change.
    • Experience building relationships across lines of businesses, influencing partners, as well as providing credible and effective challenge.
    • Proven success recruiting, inspiring, developing, coaching and motivating team members through balanced leadership with a focus on team member engagement and retention and performance management.
    • Experience in Strategic planning.
    • Experience in Database systems.
    • Ability to combine a perpetual interest in learning, and deep knowledge of industry best practices/standards to build a world class organization.
    • Ability and willingness to travel.
    Job Expectations:
