Data Management Specialist creates, implements, and maintains master data management solutions that enable users to optimize system capabilities. Uses knowledge of end-to-end data processes to analyze, cleanse, and enrich master data elements, and ensure that data flows efficiently and consistently between users and stakeholders. Being a Data Management Specialist provides data governance and ensures data integrity by coordinating data management efforts across the organization. Troubleshoots issues related to master data management and identifies opportunities for improving data management processes. Additionally, Data Management Specialist requires a bachelor's degree. Job Description:
This position reports to the Data Center Site Manager. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Trouble ticket analysis (diagnose and resolve issues) - Provide hardware or software assistance and problem resolution; troubleshoot client problems, repairs, servers, web systems. Intermediate level working knowledge of Windows Operating Systems (OS) & various Unix OS required.
Cabling - Install cables, connections and cross-connects to data center and customer equipment; utilize Fluke and VIAVI testers; connect circuits using correct pin-out assignments; install/test/maintain/label Fiber, CAT-6, Coax cabling per EIA/TIA standards.
Installations - Ability to install cables, connections and cross-connects to data center and customer equipment. Ability to utilize Fluke and VIAVI testers. Connect circuits using correct pin-out assignments; install/test/maintain/label Fiber, CAT-6, Coax cabling per EIA/TIA standards. Ability to install (rack/stack/cable/configure) server hardware platforms and related equipment; install Windows, Unix, Linux, Oracle/SUN Solaris.
Ability to review supporting documentation for operations and installation of hardware. Implement systems and software upgrades and OS configuration changes. Install routers and switches and manage cabling for these devices
Database/Documentation Updates - Update inventories, work with multiple ticketing and database systems.
General Duties - Maintain a knowledge of building infrastructure (UPS, Generators, HVAC, Electrical components, Security and Surveillance systems and other facilities maintenance). Interfacing with internal and external clients on a regular basis. Assist site manager with tours on an as needed basis.
May be required to lift over 50 pounds. May be required to work during day, evening or night shifts and weekends and other overtime. Computer and networking skills needed prior to placement on the job. May bend, stoop, sit and/or walk for long periods of time. Shipping/receiving duties may be required.
Work Environment: Work in room with continuous computer equipment noise. Shipping/receiving duties as required. Color perception is necessary to perform certain critical aspects of this job.
