Pavement Data Management Engineer (Transportation Engineer Licensed Specialist 13)

Our team is seeking a Transportation Engineer Licensed Specialist 13 for our Bureau of Field Services Team. We are looking for someone who can embrace the challenges of meeting our goals and exceeding the standards!

    This position functions as the Michigan Department of Transportation’s (MDOT) statewide administrator of the Project Identification Tool (PIT) Software application. As the responsible in charge, with extensive knowledge of pavement lifecycles and construction, the position will serve as the departmental expert with the PIT application in leading, guiding, and supporting the implementation, measurement, and management of PIT, in order to carry out the departments Mission and Values. This position will work closely with Department of Technology, Management, and Budget (DTMB) in determining appropriate security for this software integration and security levels for the MDOT users. This position will be
    responsible for maintaining statewide/regional alignment for all PIT initiatives and collaborate with internal teams and local agencies in charge of meeting the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) pavement performance measures reporting requirements. This position will collaborate with other pavement engineering staff to analyze complex pavement data for use in pavement design software, such as Pavement ME Design, the Pavement Historical Database, and the life-cycle cost analysis process.

    Education
    Possession of a bachelor of science degree in engineering.

    Experience
    Four years of professional experience equivalent to a Transportation Engineer, including two years equivalent to a Transportation Engineer P11 or one year equivalent to a Transportation Engineer 12 or Transportation Engineer Licensed 12.

    This position requires possession of a registered professional engineering license as required by the State of Michigan.

    This position requires a valid driver's license.
