    Collects, abstracts, reports, summarizes detailed demographic, historical, outcomes, and cellular therapy data information from a variety of internal and external data sources pertaining to patients receiving cellular therapies through the Cellular Therapy Program according to department protocols. Maintains lifetime follow-up data on each cellular therapy patient. Assists in the development and maintenance of specialized databases to ensure the accuracy of all cellular therapy registry information. Assists in the preparation and submission of periodic and ad hoc reports required by regulatory agencies, third-party payers, physicians, researchers and others as required to meet contractual obligations. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Quality Manager of the Cellular Therapy Program.

    Responsibilities

    • 1. Collects, abstracts, and summarizes detailed transplant/cellular therapy information from a variety of internal and external electronic data sources pertaining to patients in the Cellular Therapy Program according to department protocols. Enters data into WellSky, Center for International Blood & Marrow Transplant Research (CIBMTR) Formsnet3 and/or other associated databases according to established procedures.
      • 1.1 Assures that all cellular therapy information is collected and performed within the required time frame.
    • 2. Actively participates in required meetings with the quality manager, program manager, clinical director, the cellular therapy team members, and/or third parties to ensure case-finding and quality data collection is completed as required.
      • 2.1 Attend weekly program meetings with the clinical director and/or cellular therapy team to obtain complete data collection on each transplant patient as required
    • 3. Assists in the development and maintenance of specialized databases (e.g. WellSky, web-based registries) to ensure the completeness and accuracy of all cellular therapy patient information.
      • 3.1 Assist in any WellSky upgrades as needed
    • 4. Participates in preparation and conduction of on-site and virtual audits and reaccreditation activities from external agencies such as the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT), National Marrow Donor Program (NMDP), CIBMTR and third party payers as observed by manager.
      • 4.1 Assist in maintaining regulatory paperwork required by external agencies such as FACT, NMDP, Request For Information (RFI?s) Service of Excellence Surveys, and third party payers.
    • 5. Assist in providing cellular therapy data request to administration, physicians, and/or researchers while maintaining security and confidentiality of patient information.
      • 5.1 Adheres to Yale New Haven Health's HIPAA policies and procedures.
    • 6. Develops and maintains knowledge of Cellular Therapy registries by attending educational workshops/meetings in accordance with Hospital policies and procedures.
      • 6.1 Attains continuing education credit as required by FACT and other accrediting agencies.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION


    Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent or health care related


    EXPERIENCE


    One to two years of directly related work experiences. Knowledge of oncology hematology and cellular therapy (bone marrow, stem cell, IECs including CAR-T) disease process, anatomy/physiology, pathology and medical terminology.


    LICENSURE


    MLS/MT (ASCP) certification preferred


    SPECIAL SKILLS


    Intermediate keyboarding/data entry skills; intermediate skills using Windows-based software (e.g. Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Power Point and Crystal Reports). Experience in using WellSky system, Formsnet3, or other oncology registry software is preferred. Ability to work independently with excellent organizational skills and investigative/analytic skills with detail orientation. Ability to work efficiently and independently in a remote work environment while collaborating with the interdisciplinary team in a virtual setting.

    Minimum 2 years of experience in the laboratory or medical field.
    Minimum 2 years of experience in the laboratory or medical field. Working knowledge of Office 365, experience reading and interpreting pathology reports, imaging reports, molecular reports, and cytogenetics. Very good understanding of hematology/oncology diseases, able to understand lines of therapy and their responses. Knowledge about Immune Effector Cells Therapy, and Bone Marrow Transplant.Familiar with CIBMTR is a plus.
