There is a current need for a Senior Financial Analyst by one of Robert Half's clients. The Senior Financial Analyst will be in charge of driving world class strategic and financial planning methods, developing rolling forecast processes to ensure resources are leveraged with maximum effectiveness, and building long-range operating plans to support business initiatives. Cultivating data-driven planning processes and improving upon monthly and quarterly reporting will be some of your responsibilities as Senior Financial Analyst. This Senior Financial Analyst role will give you the opportunity to become an integral part of the team, which will allow strategic input to the senior leadership of the company. Candidates that have experienced in coordinating various planning cycles (annual planning, quarterly forecasts and monthly outlooks), while providing strategic analyses and recommendations, will be better suited for this role. You will give explanations for business reasons for variances and adjusting the outlook models to reflect operational adjustments, as well as, provide variance analysis of bookings, revenues and expenses. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Petaluma, California area.
Major responsibilities
- Produce monthly reporting to business partners on financial results and actions required
- Work with Accounting on the monthly and quarterly financial close process
- Get together with senior executives on strategic deep dives by developing financial models and insights on topics such as: Retention forecasts, Campaign Planning & Tracking, return on investment of strategic investments, event tracking and execution, strategic resource allocation and prioritization
- Manage weekly, quarterly and annual Area/Segment-level Bookings and P& L forecasting
- Collect and observe forecasting reports
- Facilitate effective Business Intelligence (BI) to provide forward-looking insight and decision support
- Record monthly and quarterly performance through comparison of actuals versus expectations and enable business partners to handle their resources
- Dissect performance to date and assess potential risks and opportunities
- Apprehend and analyze internal and external drivers impacting performance and trending
