    Job Duties

    Richard Bland College (RBC) is a two-year, residential, liberal arts transfer institution that focuses on preparing students for transfer to highly ranked colleges and universities. The College is a hidden gem located outside the Tri-Cities region—and its rural setting featuring 750 acres of wetlands, bucolic forest, and the state’s oldest and largest pecan grove.

    Reporting to the Chief Research Officer, the Data Analyst will assist, respond and fulfill data reporting request for Data Reporting and Analysis related to statistical and predictive analysis needs. The Data Analyst will perform all necessary functions related to data collection, data analysis, and research activities relative to the college mission and strategic priorities; and state and federal compliance and accreditation reporting.

    Job responsibilities include the following:

     Assist with determining factors and measures of student success and programs.
     Develops standard methods of student retention analysis, withdrawal and graduation rate, outcome measures and any other ad-hoc or term-based analysis needs.
     Identify best practices for student success measurements.
     Develops models for predictive analytics based on the needs of the college.
     Designs, executes, analyzes, and interprets internal data to support data-driven decision making.
     Identify trends in higher education and communicate and present findings to the Chief Research Officer.
     Works cross-functionally with other campus and division offices to achieve our aspirational vision of 100% student success.
     Performs other duties, responsibilities, or special projects as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience in accessing and utilizing data for decision making.
    • Effective interpersonal skills, strong communicator, a collaborative management style and the ability to work effectively across functional areas to achieve established goals.
    • Proficiency in analytic tools at the intermediate to advanced level with an emphasis on data acquisition, manipulation, merging, and transformation.
    • Microsoft Office Proficiency to include Excel with emphasis on formula writing, and data transformation linking.
    • Qualtrics Proficiency to include Data input, export, survey input, data analysis (to include but not limited to regressions, correlation, ANOVAS, path analysis).
    • Demonstrated experience in quantitative and qualitative data.
    • Enthusiastic commitment to the Richard Bland College mission, vision and strategic goals.
    • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a faculty member at RBC.
    • Demonstrated experience in survey development.

    Additional Considerations

    • Master's degree from an accredited college or university, with course work in research and statistics, education administration, business or related field.
