Data Scientist identifies trends, patterns, and anomalies found in big data sets by performing extensive data analysis to develop insights. Performs data mining, cleaning, and aggregation processes to prepare data, implement data models, conduct analysis, and develop databases. Being a Data Scientist interprets results from multiple structured and unstructured data sources using programming, statistical, and analytical techniques and tools. Collaborates with teams to understand each data analysis projects' underlying purpose, focus, and objectives. Additionally, Data Scientist designs, develops, and implements the most valuable data-driven solutions for the organization. May require a master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Data Scientist work is closely managed.     As a Senior Data Scientist at Micron Technology Inc., you will collaborate with internal stakeholder to provide data-driven solutions to complex strategic and tactical challenges. This is a highly collaborative role with sales, supply chain, management, information technology, etc. You will combine problem-solving, data-analysis, and technical skills to identify, quantify, and solve business problems. You will be a part of a team that is constantly challenging the boundaries of what is possible.  

     

    Responsibilities include, but not limited to: 

    • Build accurate time series, optimization, and machine learning models   

    • Perform advanced statistical analysis  

    • Develop and deploy end-to-end data science solutions from idea generation phase, PoC development to full productization. 

    • Drive actions and business impact through effective data presentation and data story telling.  

    • Communicates to share knowledge and findings, presenting results in a manner that the finance team and business partners can understand  

    Education and Experience 

    • Masters/Ph.D. in one or more of the following areas: Data Science, Computer Science, AI, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Computer/Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related fields of study 

    • 3 years of experience in data reporting, business or finance experience preferred 

    • 3 years in data science or related quantitative role 

    • A proven track record of using machine learning for predictive modeling and forecasting 

    • Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous problems and solve them in a structured, hypothesis-driven, data-supported way 

    • Strong technical knowledge in concepts and implementation of AI, ML, optimization algorithms, statistics, modelling and simulation, experience with stacking/ensembling methods, model performance analysis, explainability methods, parameter search and optimization. Use in-depth data science expertise to influence the data science lifecycle 

    • Expert knowledge in feature engineering, dimensionality reduction for labeled and unlabeled data sets, handling imbalance, intelligent representative sampling, data augmentation methods for numerical/image data and continuous learning. 

    • Expert programming skills in Python/R (Python preferred, experience in both is a plus), experience in ML frameworks (TensorFlow/Keras/PyTorch/Sci-kit learn), experience in big data, cloud platforms and ML Ops tools and methods 

    • Strong SQL skills 

    • Strategically focused, impact oriented, highly organized and adaptable 

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 

    Preferred:

    • Experience in leveraging Google Cloud Platform for modeling large datasets
