Performs data mining, cleaning, and aggregation processes to prepare data, implement data models, conduct analysis, and develop databases. Being a Data Scientist interprets results from multiple structured and unstructured data sources using programming, statistical, and analytical techniques and tools. Collaborates with teams to understand each data analysis projects' underlying purpose, focus, and objectives. Additionally, Data Scientist designs, develops, and implements the most valuable data-driven solutions for the organization. May require a master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Data Scientist work is closely managed.     Purpose of Role

    Rich Data Co is a cloud native AI Decisioning company whose purpose is financial inclusion and increasing global access to credit. To achieve this, the Data Science / Modeler function is key to our organisational success. As we look to expand in North America and grow our world-class team, we are seeking a Senior Data Science subject matter expert to join our team. A Lead/Senior Data Scientist will work closely with our customers on developing AI based solutions to solve complex credit-based decisions in the Small and Midsize Business and Commercial lending space.

    Accountability & Outcomes

    The role will involve the following key accountabilities:

    • Designing, Presenting & documenting AI based initiatives to our clients, typically banking and risk executives.
    • Design use cases for clients with clear objectives and success criteria, matching our AI platform capabilities and client needs.
    • Develop data processing solutions and machine learned models to address the business objective of our clients using RDC platform.
    • Lead discovery engagement and develop prototypes to be deployed on the RDC platform for clients across new use cases in SMB and Commercial lending within in Australia & New Zealand and/or North America
    • Support sales, client advisory and client delivery team to achieve expected business outcomes as agreed with our clients.
    • Help mentor and train more junior Data Science team members on RDC methodologies and AI best practices

    Essential Qualifications

    • 5 years of credit risk experience
    • Programming experience in Python and SQL, including machine learning techniques
    • Experience developing, and managing quantitative credit risk models including credit decisioning models
    • Experience presenting to technical, and non-technical stakeholders, including senior leadership
    • Experience working with non-traditional data sources such as transaction, accounting, and e-commerce data

    Desired Qualifications

    • Advanced degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other Quantitative related degree
    • Exposure to other languages such as R, Perl, SAS.
    • Deep understanding of the credit risk life cycle and lending practices.
    • Understanding the decision-making process behind the lending process.
