Performs data mining, cleaning, and aggregation processes to prepare data, implement data models, conduct analysis, and develop databases. Being a Data Scientist interprets results from multiple structured and unstructured data sources using programming, statistical, and analytical techniques and tools. Collaborates with teams to understand each data analysis projects' underlying purpose, focus, and objectives. Additionally, Data Scientist designs, develops, and implements the most valuable data-driven solutions for the organization. May require a master's degree in computer science, mathematics, engineering or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Data Scientist work is closely managed. Focus School Software is looking to expand our team by hiring a PowerBI Developer / Data Scientist to work with our team. This person will help support our Analytics product which includes dozens of dashboards analyzing student data to help educators target interventions and improve their educational processes. This position may be occasionally customer facing, providing training and professional growth opportunities. The best candidate will display leadership capabilities to help drive data-decision making processes within Focus and our customers.
Minimum Qualifications:
2 years' experience as a PowerBI developer, data scientist, data analyst or data engineer
Experience with PowerBi Analytics, creating dashboards, Data Analysis Expressions (DAX)
Strong SQL skills
Strong writing and communication skills
Experience with statistical research and analytics techniques (i.e. classification, clustering, regression, segmentation, etc.)
Nice to have:
A passion and interest in the development of Educational software
Knowledge of school district processes and functionality is helpful
