In this vital role you will use data science and artificial intelligence technology and their knowledge of medical device development and design control to create and improve Combination products and processes. The candidate will have a key role in creating sophisticated tools using AI and automation technologies for combination product lifecycle. This position also requires data engineering skills to handle and optimize the incoming data, ensuring high-quality data integration and analysis. While also working closely with the product development and engineering teams to understand existing business processes, engineer the future while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

    • Convert and standardize data from different sources into data products that conform to information models that match business data domains.
    • Help Design, develop, test, and automate reliable, observable, high-performance data pipelines that instantiate data in both graph and relational forms.
    • Design, prototype, and evaluate AI solutions that automate prompt engineering for various natural language processing tasks.
    • Use Gen AI tools to extract relevant information from different sources of technical documents, such as manuals, specifications, or reports.
    • Analyze and structure the extracted information into semantic graphs that capture the relations and attributes of the entities and concepts in the documents.
    • Manage delivery of a continuous, iterative flow of Combination product data products and improvements to meet business needs.
    • Collaborate with Technical teams to shape how the data can drive value for Combination Products business problems.
    • Accelerate Combination product introduction by providing innovative solutions to design control results.
    • Design and develop data visualization solutions to communicate complex data insights to various stakeholders and support data-driven decision making for Combination products.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • High school diploma/GED and 12 years of Engineering experience OR
    • Associate's degree and 10 years of Engineering experience OR
    • Bachelor's Degree and 5 years of Engineering experience OR
    • Master's Degree and 3 years of Engineering experience OR
    • Doctorate Degree

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • M.S. or Ph. D. in engineering, Mechanical, Biomedical or Chemical
    • a minimum of 3 years of experience in Medical Device or combination products
    • at minimum of 3 years of experience in data analytics and using data and statistical methods
    • Experience with querying languages and databases, such as SQL, Python, and MongoDB
    • Experience with natural language processing and machine learning, such as NLTK, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or GPT-3
    • Proficiency in visualization tools like Spotfire and Tableau
    • Experience with AWS services, such as S3, Redshift, Bedrock, or SageMaker
    • Experience with leading technical teams, including setting priorities and leveling resources
    • Knowledge of device regulatory requirements, medical device development and engineering, and design controls.
    • Experience in developing and implementing design plans, protocols, reports, and risk assessments for medical devices
    • Working knowledge of medical device and combination product regulations and standards such as 21 CFR Part 4,21 CFR 820, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971
    • Experience with change controls, deviations, CAPA Experience with Medical Device or Combination products
    • Understanding of the six sigma process, applying statistical tools to solve statistical problems
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills together with demonstrated ability to work in a highly matrixed team environment
