    About the Position
    The Data Security Analyst is responsible for assisting the Information Technology Team in day-to-day compliance activities, security reviews, ensuring data security, and working to address findings. This position assures that information created, acquired, or maintained, and its authorized users, are in accordance with its intended purpose. This is a hands-on Security and Compliance position needed to assist the Information Technology Team in supporting their efforts to protect systems.

    Position Qualifications

    Education:
    • Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science or related field
    Experience:
    • Two (2) years of experience in professional-level IT security and compliance or related
    OR
    Combined education and experience qualifications:
    • An equivalent combination of post-secondary education and/or experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis
    Other Requirements:
    • Must possess or can obtain by the time of hire, a valid Arizona driver's license.
    Our Preferred Candidate has:
    • Experience using Justice Information Systems
    • Experience working in a criminal justice setting.
    • Experience working as an NCIC Systems Security Officer
    Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

    Essential Job Tasks

    • Ensures court and court department employees are current on Privacy & Security Training and Terminal Operator Certification requirements.
    • Coordinates with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Court Technology Services and peer Systems Security Officers to ensure network security meets NCIC and County requirements.
    • Assists with employee background investigations and security violation investigations and reports confirmed violations to the Arizona Department of Public Safety
    • Functions as the primary business analyst for criminal justice data network and business applications
    • Leads systems analyses with subject matter experts and documents business requirements.
    • Leads an analysis team working with programmers to test and validate programs.
    • Tests new business applications, writes user manuals and conducts training for criminal justice applications.
    • Supports applications; issues alert and informs employees of systems outages
    • Ensures applications are in alignment with department strategic plans and strategic goals where applicable.
    • Builds monthly ad hoc reports to inform users and management of systems data and trends.
    • Thoroughly understands and monitors the data sources, database constructs, legal requirements and stakeholder requirements for data maintenance and integration.
    • Works closely and cooperatively with court and law enforcement partners and stakeholders to facilitate systems integrity and data integration.
    • Facilitates internal and external audits to ensure data quality adheres to prescribed requirements.
    • Ensures workstations supporting applications are properly certified and in working order.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to speak clearly and hear; see details of objects that are less than a few feet away; sit for long periods of time; stand, walk, use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and occasionally push, pull or lift up to 20 pounds.
