    We are currently seeking a Data Governance Analyst to join our team in Plano, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).

    The Data Governance Analyst plays a crucial role in fostering a positive, data-centric security culture within the organization. Their primary focus is safeguarding data confidentiality, integrity, and availability, aligning these efforts with the strategic goals of the company. By actively contributing to policy development and risk management, they ensure the protection of information assets across the enterprise. In addition to maintaining a vigilant approach to security, this role involves promoting a secure organizational culture through knowledge sharing, training initiatives, and positive influence within their team and across various business units.
    The Data Governance Analyst will also work closely with the Data Governance team to assist with adhering to the record retention schedule. They will work closely with data owners and stewards to provide reports of records that are held past retention requirements.
    They will interface and work with all lines of business, IT and non-IT functional areas and teams, including but not limited to data owners, data stewards and record coordinators.

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and enforce data governance policies and procedures.

    Identify, assess, and document data-related risks, working towards effective mitigation strategies.
    *
    Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, customer obligations and industry standards regarding data management.

    Conduct regular audits and assessments to monitor data quality, integrity, and security.
    *
    Work closely with data owners, stewards and custodians to define and implement data classification and access controls.
    *
    Create and maintain documentation related to data governance processes, standards, and best practices.
    *
    Monitor and enforce adherence to data retention policies, ensuring compliance with legal and organizational requirements.

    Participate in incident response activities, contributing to the detection, containment, eradication, and recovery of security incidents.
    *
    Collaborate with other Data Governance team members and IT teams to implement and maintain solutions such as data loss prevention tools and encryption protocols.

    Provide training and support to internal teams on data governance principles, policies, procedures and best practices.
    *
    Analyze and report on key performance indicators related to data governance, identifying areas for improvement.
    *
    Actively contribute to the development and enhancement of data governance frameworks and practices.
    *
    Collaborate with business units to understand data requirements and assist in translating business needs into data governance solutions.
    *
    Support the resolution of data-related issues and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
    *
    Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in data governance and information security, contributing to the evolution of the organization's data management strategies.
    The Data Governance Analyst role combines expertise in the data governance and information security disciplines. Responsibilities include analyzing, monitoring, and maintaining information processes across the enterprise. The position actively contributes to the overall security of the environment, ensuring strict adherence to policies and risk management. Beyond technical responsibilities, the Data Governance Analyst serves as a champion within their team and across business units, promoting a secure organizational culture through knowledge sharing, training, positive influence, and exemplary conduct. This multifaceted role is instrumental in upholding data integrity and security while aligning with the company's strategic objectives.

    Independently participate in requirements documentation, business systems configuration and defining/execution of acceptance criteria. Document issues and participate in their resolution.
    *
    Work closely with development and business teams to understand business requirements and promote compliance with data governance policies, procedures, regulatory requirements and customer obligations.
    *
    Actively contribute to the organization's strategic goals by monitoring compliance with data policies, resolving data-related issues and fostering a culture of responsible data management.
    *
    Work closely with cross functional teams and across boundary organizations to gather requirements, define solutions, implement new tools and processes and provide ongoing support to these teams.
    *
    Develop deep understanding of the applications that they support.
    *
    Communicate cross-functionally and across management levels in formal and informal settings.
    Other Job Requirements
    Responsibilities
    2 years of data governance experience required.
    May substitute 1 or more relevant certifications for a year of experience.
    Able to effectively manage evolving and competing objectives and possess a wide range of knowledge of data governance concepts, principles, tools and best practices.
    Has strong communication and negotiation skills. Results driven with a bias for action. Demonstrated knowledge in 2 or more of the following data governance principles: data ownership, data stewardship, data quality, data classification and sensitivity and data lifecycle management.
    Familiarity with 1 or more of the following industry organizations, publications and standards: the Data Governance Institute (DGI); the Data Management Body of Knowledge (DMBOK); the Information Governance Reference Model (IGRM); the Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP); General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
    Ability to work with multi-discipline teams and cross-functional management.
    Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other groups.
