    Your contribution:

    The Manager of Enterprise Data Management is an individual who complies with and is passionate about defining and adopting standards and data governance practices throughout the organization to promote efficient operations, transparency, and support accurate analytics of master data. He/She is a problem solver with an understanding of master data, and its utilization in the technology and systems that support our business. This manager finds innovative solutions to efficiently source critical data that complies with company and industry standards and support the evolution of Data Governance within the organization. Business experience and acumen is essential to this role in order to successfully resolve issues across various business units and find new solutions to existing problems through the establishment of efficient processes and/or technologies supported by standards and the consistent utilization of defined attribution. This individual must be professional, strategic and persistent in the establishing data governance processes, as well as measuring and maintaining organizational compliance with those processes.

    Specific areas of responsibilities include oversight of existing third party sources (GS1 (GDSN), 3rd party data pool, content provider(s) of digital content and EDI) including negotiation of legal agreements. In the existing environment of change, this manager must be able to pivot and adjust or engage the necessary third party resources to meet the existing data needs of the organization.

    What you will do:

    • Develop, implement and maintain a data governance framework that aligns with the organization’s objectives and data strategy. This includes setting up data governance policies, standards, procedures, and best practices.
    • Act as a liaison between different stakeholders, including IT, business units, and external parties. Communicate data governance strategies, policies, and procedures to stakeholders at all levels.
    • Facilitate the provision of high-quality data for reporting and analysis purposes. Work closely with data analytics teams to support data-driven decision-making.
    • Promote data governance awareness and best practices across the organization. Develop and deliver training programs to enhance staff understanding and compliance with data governance policies.
    • Evaluate and recommend data governance tools and technologies. Ensure that the tools used for data governance are effective and align with organizational needs.
    • Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of data governance initiatives. Regularly review and report on the progress and impact of data governance efforts.
    • Continually assess and improve the data governance program to adapt to changing needs, technologies, and regulatory environments.
    • Responsible for maintaining the expertise to effectively manage, develop and evaluate those individuals facilitating the following:
    • The efficient exchange of data through EDI and Data Synchronization with new and existing vendors by providing training, technical analysis, problem solving, testing and direction to trading partners, members, service providers and division
    • Maintaining vendor relationships to ensure compliance with our technical and governance processes and standards.
    • Development and support of integrated business standards and/or governance in the execution of tasks and initiatives supporting organizational and regulatory requirements including:
    • Performance of diagnostics, identifying data structure anomalies, data discrepancies and standards violations, to communicate and resolve all issues impacting the successful purchasing and replenishment of product.
    • Develop solutions for product divisions, members and suppliers that close content gaps and ensure delivery of complete and accurate data that satisfies the needs of the entire organization
    • Sources and facilitates delivery of master data as noted above.
    • Development of processes to secure a library of digital assets for utilization across the organization and insures compliance with digital rights management.
    • Negotiate agreements with third party solution providers to provide data, digital content and technology to support the sharing, transfer and efficient utilization of standardized data, as well as our Data Governance requirements.

    What we’re looking for:

    • Four-year college degree or currently enrolled in a 4 year degree program
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification desired (Candidate selected will be required to attain certification if not currently held)
    • 10 years’ experience in the area of Data Governance, including familiarity with Product Master Data, and the attribution necessary to support multiple facets of our business, Data Workflows, GS1 Standards, Data Synchronization and EDI; with a demonstrated comprehension of the criticality of global standards to the exchange of data amongst trading partners.
    • Work experience in a retail, wholesale, procurement, and/or finance area required.
    • Existing work history with GS1US and Data Pools a plus
    • Excellent problem solving skills are required with the ability to understand the inter-relatability of Product Master Data elements, and the collaborative impact across our operations.
    • Acute analytical abilities with the ability to delve into details, question results and provide an accurate outcome.
    • Well-developed oral and written communication skills including the ability to write and deliver both informal and formal presentations.
    • Ability to work in fast-paced environment, under stress, and with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and resolve problems effectively and efficiently.
    • Demonstrated ability to interface effectively and collaborate with vendors, peers, and management to develop solutions and ensure stakeholder buy-in.
    • Proven leadership, assertiveness, interpersonal and analytical skills proficiency are essential.
    • Documented ability to utilize SQL to query data.
    • Knowledge of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), specifically SAP Hana S4 required
