Position Overview
This position will support operations by monitoring and analyzing master data, developing data governance tools and templates and ensuring the highest possible data quality through routine audits. This role is critical to the overall success of new product launches, which requires collaboration with key stakeholders that include Product Management, Operations and Planning teams. Critical thinking and an aptitude for process development are essential to this role.
What you'll do
- Manage the process for gathering and vetting data for set-up
- Drive process improvements to ensure data owners are providing or maintaining quality data across all key data objects (Material Master, BOMs, Routings, Production Versions, Purchase Information Records, Source List, VC – variant configurations)
- Document and maintain local standard operating procedures and process documents to help the local data owners understand what they need to do
- Support training of local stakeholders on the data standards and why they are important
- Support MDG by identifying data issues leading to development of data audits
- Proactive and engaged
- Focused on data quality
- Respected by teammates and can hold team members accountable for due dates
- Strong communication skills and collaborates with other Data Stewards on launch priorities, timelines, expectations and issues
- Manages day-to-day relationships with stakeholders ensuring all information is provided and received in order to successfully create & maintain high quality master data in accordance with MDG data standards
- Able to coordinate with both business and technology resources and translate business requirements into best practice solutions
- Develops standardized process flows and operating procedures for their division
- Provides training to team members as needed around tools, processes, timelines and priorities
- Identifies gaps and areas of improvement and works with team members to evolve and mature processes within and across divisions
- Defines, designs and builds data templates and databases to meet business needs
- Is recognized as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for SAP master data and has a solid understanding of how the master data impacts related business processes
- Responsible for the creation and maintenance of SAP master data
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, certifications and experience (non-
degreed lean and six sigma certificates are accepted with years of experience)
- Bachelor's in information science, data management, computer science is preferred
- Five or more years of experience in data management and analysis
- SAP, Hana, Fiori expert or Super-User level proficiency (material master, queries, etc.)
- Excel, MS Access, G Suite experience
- Ensures quality of master data in key systems, as well as development and documentation of
processes with other functional data owners to support ongoing maintenance and data integrity
- Good personal computer and business solutions software skills
- Basic knowledge of bills of material, material master, purchase info. records and mass updates
- Good communication skills to communicate with customers, team members, external data
providers, and management
- Good skills in data administration, design, and architecture
- Ability to effectively communicate information to internal customers and to all levels within the
organization
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Significant knowledge of business process related to supply chain and operations
