Title: GED Instructor/Workshop Facilitator
Classification: Non-exempt
Scope of Position: Responsible for maintaining a classroom conducive to learning, while providing GED preparation instruction, professional career development, and pre-employment readiness services to customers.
Essential Functions:
· Prepare, schedule, coordinate and facilitate GED classes along with various pre-employment readiness and job search workshops, such as Interviewing Skills and Resume Writing, in a group setting.
· Create and maintain an environment that promotes opportunities for quality interaction and learning; implement quality instructional practices.
· Prepare, schedule, coordinate, proctor and score assessment/testing, including, but not limited to: Test for Adult Basic Education (TABE), GED Academy, GED Readiness, SkillUp, CareerScope, and O*NET Profiler and Interest Survey.
· Develop a thorough understanding and working knowledge of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), CareerLink operations, and the state’s internet-based Commonwealth Workforce Development System (CWDS)
· Perform required data entry procedures in CWDS.
· Responsible for the creation, publication and distribution of the monthly workshop schedule, calendar of events and CWDS Event List. This includes coordinating partner and outside agency- facilitated workshops conducted onsite
· Maintain and update the PA CareerLink Schuylkill County at Pottsville social media pages and sites.
· Perform community outreach presentations and workshop services to partner agencies, community organizations, schools, prisons, parole/probation programs, senior community centers, local housing authorities, job and career fairs, etc.
· Responsible for researching new and innovative career development and employment readiness tools, materials and resources on an ongoing basis. Apply continuous improvement methodology to ensure that information and instruction provided to customers remains relevant to the labor market and employer base.

Education and Experience Requirements:
· Bachelor’s Degree is required.
· Ability to present information to groups in a clear, concise manner. Public speaking experience preferred; Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
· High degree of computer literacy, including a thorough knowledge of Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, internet and email. Knowledge in internet-based assessment testing and/or teaching certification a plus.
· Good interpersonal and analytical skills in a team-oriented environment
· Must be able to work independently with little supervision
· Must have an acceptable driving record and reliable transportation
