    Description

    The Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and ambiance of the restaurant during operation hours, ensuring the continuity of service by keeping the front and back of the house clean and welcoming to enrich the customer experience. Ensures a clean and workable dining and kitchen area at all times by pre-bussing and washing dishes as needed.

     

    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

    The following is a list of the essential duties/responsibilities.

     

    1. Maintain best practice in cleanliness at all times.
    2. Prep cleaning for opening/closing restaurant.
    3. Pre bus tables, clean tables, bus dishes and wash dishes.
    4. Ensure all open tables and seating areas are clean, sanitized, and wiped down.
    5. Assist the cooks and host/hostesses as needed.
    6. Washing kitchen equipment, utensils, dishware, flatware, etc.
    7. Organize cleaned items and placing back where they are to be stored once dry.
    8. Assist in the cleaning and sanitation of workstations, freezers, refrigerators, grills, ovens, etc.
    9. Ensure all items are clean according to sanitation guidelines.
    10. Maintain a clean and organized work area.
    11. Keeping restaurant stocked with adequate supplies such as plates, glasses, silverware, and napkins.
    12. Disposing of trash and other waste.
    13. Record all breakage.
    14. Will assist with receiving merchandise and inventory as needed.
    15. Interact and coordinate with other team members to ensure outstanding customer experience.
    16. Attends all scheduled team member meetings and brings suggestions for improvement.
    17. Performs other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    1. Ability to perform assigned duties in highly interruptive conditions with consistent pressure.
    2. Must have developed strong interpersonal skills.
    3. Detail-oriented and multi-task efficiently.
    4. Prioritizes and works efficiently with limited supervision.
    5. Professional attitude and expectations.
    6. Must have excellent verbal communication with team members.
    7. Must have excellent attitude and customer service experience to deal with both internal and external customers (internal is all team members of the Casino & Gaming Commission; external are the Casinos customers, vendors, and other government entities.
    8. Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment.
    9. Knowledge of OR the ability to learn to operate the food preparation and other equipment used in the Restaurant & Bar.
    10. Works cooperatively and fosters teamwork by helping team members with essential functions.
    11. Ability to obtain Gaming License from the Sac and Fox Nation Gaming Commission.

     

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

    High school diploma or GED required. The ability to read English and understand either written or verbal instructions. Prior restaurant experience helpful.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables. Exhibits a cooperative demeanor when interacting with peers, supervisors and customers.

    OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Ability to tolerate high stress, high pace workload, scrutiny from surveillance and audit of work. Ability to see problems and avoid situations that could be deemed to be illegal or represent a safety hazard to fellow employees or customers. Ability to handle a fast-paced environment. The ability to follow complex instructions and ability to perform assigned tasks under limited supervision.
