Data Warehouse Programming Specialist jobs in the United States

Responsibilities

As a Data Warehouse Programmer, you will focus on data team support for the Commercial Services PMO for commercial carrier contracts. This role will focus on the monthly ETL processing for the commercial data resulting in the contract compliance KPI and financial reporting. You will maintain the established process utilizing Teradata and IBM Cognos and support the transition to a cloud-based platform for backend database and Business Intelligence (BI) tools utilized for each program.  Finally, you will assist with maintaining any required Business Intelligence (BI) tools, and work with the Staff members to provide maintenance/upgrades throughout the life of the BI tools to meet PMO data analysis and reporting requirements.

As a member of a team of technical and functional logistics experts, this position requires an individual to be able to help design, develop, implement, and maintain IT solutions to support USTRANSCOM and the Department of Defense. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Translates application and end user system requirements into technical requirements.
• Create and maintain supporting analytical data framework to enable Key Performance Indicator (KPI) dashboards and other BI Tool reporting requirements.
• Apply business rules and processes to cleanse, consolidate, and integrate transactions to create decision ready data to feed dashboards or performance reporting.
• Consume and store carrier transactional level data to be presented in BI tools and reports.
• Maintain and perform upgrades as required throughout the BI Tool life cycle.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Information Management, Data Analytics, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Management, Science or business related fields with minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
• U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
• Knowledge of back-end development and relational databases (Teradata, Oracle, Sql Server, etc.)
• Experience with Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) and data virtualization.
• Knowledge of BI and visualization applications such as IBM Cognos Analytics, Microsoft Power BI, or Tableau.
• Demonstrated skills in solving problems and responsibility for ensuring customer satisfaction.
• Proven experience effectively prioritizing workload to meet deadlines and work objectives.
• Must enjoy working in a team environment with frequent customer contact and have excellent oral communication and interpersonal skills. 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Active DoD Secret clearance.
• Experience with USTRANSCOM or Department of Defense military logistics. 
• Experience with IBM Cognos Analytics or Big Data Environment Reporting Services.
• Experience with Cloud-based database structures and concepts. (Databricks, etc.)
