Position Summary
Data Projections, Inc. is seeking an energetic, success oriented sales or training professional with a strong work ethic to join our sales team to become our next AV product expert specializing in Boxlight products including but not limited to Clevertouch, Front Row, & mimioSTEM. The Product Specialist will be focused on supporting our sales team with closing sales of Boxlight products and related services. The Specialist will act as the technical expert and training specialist on all Boxlight brand products. The Specialist will be required to travel to meet with customers across all industries to discuss how the Boxlight brand can support the customer’s mission/vision through integration with their curriculum, AV solutions, communications platform, and/or technology needs.
This position will provide support to all internal sales account executives and external customers across all verticals throughout the Data Projections territories. Travel expected for this position will be 50-60% primarily within the state of Texas.
Position Responsibilities
Product Expertise, Development and Support
- Develop and continuously grow a deep understanding of the products or services offered
- Become well-versed in the features, functionality, and technical aspects of the offerings.
- Effectively demonstrate solutions value to Account Executives and potential customers.
- Compare and analyze competitive solutions and provide sales information to wider sales team
- Possess a strong technical background to address customer queries and provide technical support during the sales process.
- Collaborate with Integration and PM teams on product installations, configurations, and troubleshooting, ensuring that customers have a comprehensive understanding of the product's capabilities.
- Act as a first point contact for key users and account executives.
- Stay current with industry and technical knowledge related to general trends, emerging technologies within industry
Sales Support
- Work closely with the sales team to support the sales process.
- Monitors all aspects of a product implementation – from sales to end user training support
- Assist in developing sales strategies, crafting proposals, quotes, participating in sales meetings, and providing product expertise to help close deals successfully.
- Visit core Data Projections sales offices (Houston, San Antonio, Dallas & Austin) at least three visited per month.
- Maintain and manage a pipeline of projects across the focused brands
- Assist with creating compelling presentations and demonstrations to showcase how the products or services meet the customer's unique requirements.
- Work closely and effectively with sales team as needed to prepare quotes, process orders, provide information, etc. to support all customer requests in a quick, accurate and comprehensive manner
- Attend conferences and trade shows with sale team as needed
- Work closely with sales team to achieves/exceeds established sales targets
- Work within ERP system as needed
- Other additional sales support related duties as assigned
Customer Engagement
- Conduct product demonstrations and value proving background information, as basis for recommending viable communication solutions customized to meet the needs of each customer
- Engage with customers to understand their specific requirements, pain points, and objectives.
- Conduct needs analysis and gather relevant information.
- Tailor the product demonstrations and presentations according to the customer's needs.
- Build data base of existing and new clients and approach accordingly
- Evaluate and propose attendance of tech showcases across Texas
- Arrange and provide ROI on potential lunch and learns/group presentations and customer visits
Education, Certification and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years outside sales experience with proven track record in strategic selling and account management in a technology industry, or any equivalent combination of related education and experience. MBA or Graduate Degree is a plus.
Qualifications
- Ability to travel throughout region 50-60%, primarily inside Texas
- Self-motivated with a competitive spirit, a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or as a team member
- Proven track record of hunting for and maintaining strong customer relationships at the enterprise level
- Expertise in solution selling to one or more of the following verticals preferred: education (K-12 & secondary education), healthcare, oil and gas, financial, state/federal, or local government
- Consultative sales expertise including developing creative and effective sales approaches and solutions, cold calling, creating winning proposals and skillfully closing sales
- Demonstrates superior time management and business acumen skills
- Solid and demonstrable relationship selling skills
- Previous technology sales experience selling to and partnering with A/V or related interactive technology products is preferred
- Excellent networking, public speaking and communications skills
- Excellent organizational, prospecting, account development, problem solving and closing skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with Sales Force, CRM or ERP system is a plus
- Strong business and technical knowledge with exceptional presentation skills
- Experience negotiating large, complex deals
- Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
- AVIXA CTS certified is a plus
- Strong existing contacts with prospective clients
- Reliable transportation
- Must pass background and pre-employment screening
Physical Demands
- Sitting for extended periods of time
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other office equipment
- Ability to lift and transport moderately heavy equipment (up to 25 pounds)
- Must be able to travel
