Database Administration Manager manages the administration of an organization's database. Analyzes the organization's database needs and develops a long-term strategy for data storage. Being a Database Administration Manager establishes policies and procedures related to data security and integrity and monitors and limits database access as needed. Oversees the design, maintenance and implementation of the systems that manage an internal database. Additionally, Database Administration Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Database Administration Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Database Administration Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Under general direction on assignments from KCPC Senior System Administrator, provides support services to enterprise information technology. Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. A minimum of 4 years' experience in support of network and server systems. Thorough knowledge of networking, computer systems installation and operation; trouble-shooting for system hardware, software, and related equipment. Competent to handle complex problems concerning systems operations. Requires strong knowledge of server and desktop processing/operating systems that enables them to work at the highest level of all computer operations phases. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to communicate instructions to end-users relating to equipment and software operation.
