    Position Overview

    San Antonio Academy, a well-established independent PreK - 8th grade boys’ school, is
    seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven, skilled, and experienced Database Manager with
    proficiency in Raiser's Edge to join our dynamic team. As a key member of the
    development team, the candidate will play a crucial role in optimizing the use of Raiser's
    Edge to enhance fundraising efforts, donor engagement, and overall development
    operations. The Database Manager will be responsible for overseeing and managing our
    donor database, as well as ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and security of donor
    information.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Database Management:

    • Maintain and update the Raiser's Edge database to ensure accurate and up-to-date
    donor records.
    • Implement data quality control measures to uphold the integrity and reliability of
    the database.
    • Oversee strategic plans for database utilization and optimization.
    • Research, understand, and communicate best practices and procedures when

    using the database for development work.

    Gift Processing:

    • Oversee the processing of donations and gifts in Raiser's Edge, ensuring accuracy
    and timeliness.
    • Generate acknowledgment letters and receipts for donors in a timely manner.
    • Reconcile pledge and gift data with the business office.
    • Track outstanding pledges and produce pledge reminders.

    Reporting and Analysis:

    • Generate regular and ad-hoc reports from Raiser's Edge to provide insights into
    donor trends, campaign effectiveness, and fundraising goals.
    • Conduct data analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
    • Provide prospect research services for the development department.
    • Perform both online and hard copy research to evaluate giving potential and
    develop solicitation strategies.
    • Prepare individual donor profiles that reflect electronic, institutional, and
    anecdotal research.
    • Verify information concerning donors’ giving histories.

    System Optimization:

    • Collaborate with the development team to optimize the use of Raiser's Edge in
    fundraising campaigns and events.
    • Stay informed about new features and updates in Raiser's Edge and implement
    best practices.

    Training and Support:

    • Provide training to staff members on the use of Raiser's Edge, ensuring that team
    members can effectively utilize the database.
    • Offer ongoing support to users, troubleshooting issues and providing guidance as
    needed.

    Security and Compliance:

    • Implement and enforce security measures to protect donor information within the
    Raiser's Edge database.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations and organizational
    policies.

    Other Duties

    • Research returned mail and update database addresses and contact permissions
    as needed.
    • Generate mailing lists for all mailings.
    • Generate donor lists for the annual report.
    • Participate in cultivation, stewardship, and fundraising events.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
    • Proven experience as a Database Manager, preferably with expertise in Raiser's
    Edge.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Google (Drive, Docs, Sheets) software, including mail
    merges, spreadsheets, and content sharing.
    • Strong understanding of fundraising principles and development operations.
    • Exceptional data management and analytical skills as well as attention to detail and
    accuracy.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments.
    • Knowledge of data protection regulations and best practices.
