    The Database Administration Manager will oversee the administration of the organizations and our client’s database(s). The Database Administration Manager will also analyze the database needs and develop a long-term strategy for data storage. Additionally, the Database Administration Manager will establish policies and procedures related to data security and integrity while monitoring and limiting database access as needed. The Database Administration Manager will also oversee the design, maintenance, and implementation of the systems that manage an internal database. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:


    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    • Oversee a technically skilled, diverse team through various stages of database development.
    • Provides support, guidance, and feedback to direct reports regarding contract tasks, company policies, and professional conduct.
    • Assists direct reports in maintaining a consistent, positive relationship with clients (s).
    • Ensures direct reports have the tools and resources to complete their workloads.
    • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the division.
    • Draft training documentation and guidelines for analysts and end users.
    • Provide constructive and timely performance evaluations.
    • Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.
    • Promote a harassment and discrimination-free workplace.

    Essential Functions:

    • Maintain adherence to data management policy and ensure that these essential pieces of equipment are functional.
    • Oversee the building of database systems with high availability and quality in accordance with each end user’s specialized role.
    • Assist in defining users and enabling data distribution to the correct user in appropriate formats and in a timely manner.
    • Make analytical and problem-solving decisions regarding database functionality and data.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Identifies, defines, and assesses the properties and specifications necessary for the database management system (DBMS) to meet the organization's and customers' current and future needs.
    • Defines a logical database structure for application development based on the company's organizational structure.
    • Defines and executes procedures for testing and implementing new applications in the database environment.
    • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to data security and integrity.
    • Develops, implements, and monitors access policies, limiting database access on a need-related basis.
    • Develops, maintains, and controls additional corporate data libraries specific to the organization, industry, or locality.
    • Ensures project and department milestones and goals are met on time while communicating organizational objectives to both internal and external stakeholders.
    • Assesses current and projected database performance and recommends changes and enhancements.
    • Resolves data conflicts for matters such as naming conventions, data privacy, and data ownership.
    • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in RDBMS and related technology.
    • Preserving data integrity.
    • Ethically handle CUI data.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

    • Proficient understanding of SQL, SSIS, ETL processes, and extracting/loading data.
    • SAS, Oracle, Python, R, and SharePoint experience is a bonus.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field required.
    • 2-5 years prior experience with managing change and effectively communicating with teams; advanced knowledge of the broader scope that frames the essential technical area of work with the ability to use this knowledge to create incremental value; knowledge in strategic solution delivery models to ensure products and/or services continue to innovate and to drive continuous improvement.
    • Must meet Public Trust/Sensitive Position requirements for DoD.
    • Advanced proficiency in Structured Query Language (SQL).
    • In-depth knowledge of database technologies, architecture, and data security.
    • Knowledge of best practices in database management.
    • Advanced analytical, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
    • Proven experience within the Business Intelligence Department is preferred.
    • Proven experience as a leader or managerial position desirable.
    • Microsoft certifications applicable for MS SQL Server is desired.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
    • Must be able to work remotely and on-site as required by the position, client and/or contract requirements.
    • May be required to travel up to 25%.
