TMPC is seeking a Sequel Database Administrator to join our growing team of diverse professionals.
As a Sequel Database Administrator, duties include but are not limited to being responsible for the installation, configuration, administration and management of Microsoft SQL Server environments and Microsoft SQL Reporting Services.
Responsibilities:
- Must have a strong understanding of database schema object management, data modeling and architecture.
- Will facilitate, implement, monitor and test database backups and recovery methodologies and processes.
- Will monitor and optimize the performance of the production SQL server databases.
- Responsible for database security, integrity, reliability, high availability and disaster recovery solutions.
- Identify and troubleshoot database issues and the ability to analyze, design, build, test and implement solutions.
- Implement and troubleshoot triggers, views, stored procedures and data integrity constraints.
- Monitor file system space, database allocation; verify efficient use of disk storage; optimize space allocation; prevent out-of-space situations; and proactively plan for increased capacity and scalability.
- Participate in non-core business hours monthly patching.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience with SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) packages
- Exposure to Resource Governor, Tuning Advisor, SQL Profiler and Windows Reliability and Performance Monitor
- Ability to work in a dynamic fast paced environment that requires team interaction and coordination
- Excellent communication skills to including technical writing and the ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Ability and willingness to expand knowledge and experience base
- Ability to be detail oriented and to prioritize and complete assigned tasks within required deadlines
- Exceptional problem solving and decision making capabilities, including troubleshooting technical issues, successfully resolving project issues and challenges, and developing creative solutions for process improvement and understanding user requirements
- Strong understanding of database schema objects management, data modeling and architecture
- Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience
- 5 Years of Experience - deep understanding of Structured Query Language (SQL) and Transact-SQL (T-SQL)
- Experience with virtual environments (preferably Hyper-V) and SQL clustered environments
- Active Secret Clearance with the ability for Top Secret with SCI
