    As the Database Senior Specialist, you will be at the forefront of database administration and data management, where your expertise helps shape the future of our organization. This role offers the opportunity to leverage your proficiency in SQL Server and related technologies, and your ability to design, maintain, and optimize enterprise database systems. You’ll lead complex data management projects that have a significant impact, ensuring strict security and compliance standards are met.     Some of your duties may include:

    • Deploy databases: Modify database through execution of scripts; evaluate impact of changes to database.
    • Monitor and manage database environments: Perform tasks such as performance management, job scheduling and sequencing, installing, and configuring, SQL Server patching, capacity planning, and managing and supporting SQL Cluster configuration.
    • Database maintenance and support: Optimize database performance, maintain back-up and recovery of databases and data, implement security controls, plan operating system and software upgrades and patching, deploy reporting services, develop database processes, deploy SSIS packages and set up the SQL jobs, troubleshoot SQL database issues, support data conversion efforts and audit functions, implement and manage database encryption, and support IRS/Federal data.
    • Respond to service requests, change requests and incidents: Escalate technical issues to higher level or different group, coordinate scheduling, tracking, communication, incident response, outage notification, triage, vendor interactions, customer communication, user help and education, and lead on issues requiring multiple discipline support.
    • Apply security requirements and controls: Document system security plans and periodically review user access.
    • Write and update technical documentation: Write and update technical specifications, release notes and support plans, implementation plans, system diagrams, logs for production problems/incident tracking, contingency plans, and risk/assessment.

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or closely related field and seven (7) years of IT experience performing MSSQL database administration.

    OR 

    • A combination of education and/or relevant IT experience totaling eleven (11) years.

     

     

    Additional Requirement of Employment:

    • Must be able to pass an Unemployment Insurance (UI) Claim & Benefit Information Review.
    • Position may require frequent and/or occasional travel to field offices within the state, and/or occasional travel for meetings and/or training.
