    Role Summary:

    IT Database Administrator is responsible for the oversight, performance, integrity, and security of the database system. The DBA is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and security of all production databases, advice management of potential risks and mitigations and proactively take steps to ensure smooth and consistent performance. This position, with support from the VP of Core Operations, is responsible for strategic planning for database system capacity and performance. Administer, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the availability and security of all database systems. Plays a critical role in developing and administering backup and recovery procedures.

     

    The Sr. IT Database Administrator position has the ability to work fully remote from Washington, Oregon or Idaho.

     

    What You Will Be Doing:

    1. Oracle Database administration, MS SQL administration.
    2. Design Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence platform.
    3. Build database scheme, tables, procedures and permissions.
    4. Set up data sharing and disk partitioning.
    5. Develop database utilities and automated reporting.
    6. Create shell scripts for task automation.
    7. Create, test and execute data management languages.
    8. Analyze and sustain capacity and performance requirements.
    9. Analyze, consolidate and tune database for optimal efficiency.
    10. Monitor systems and platforms for availability.
    11. Support applications and tuning.
    12. Oversee backup, clustering, mirroring, replication and failover.
    13. Restore and recover corrupted databases.
    14. Perform annual disaster recovery testing of all critical databases
    15. Install and maintain database monitoring tools and create rules for predictive monitoring
    16. Install and test upgrades and patches.
    17. Implement security and encryption.
    18. Provide 24/7 support for critical situations.
    19. Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime.
    20. SQL coding and reports generation.
    21. Evaluate and recommend new database technologies.
    22. Manage 3rd party database vendors and its services
    23. Must understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions as applicable to job responsibilities.
    24. Attend credit union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by supervisor.  Maintain awareness of policies and regulations related to duties and responsibilities.
    25. Perform other duties as assigned.
       

    About You:

    1. Proficient knowledge in Oracle Database administration, RAC, RMAN commands, archive log maintenance.
    2. Proficient knowledge in MS SQL server administration and Clustering.
    3. Proficient knowledge in the Linux/Unix Operating System.
    4. Proficient knowledge in SQL, PL/SQL.
    5. Proficient knowledge in CommVault Enterprise Backup.
    6. Demonstrate strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and manage multiple complex tasks.
    7. Ability to work well in a team environment.
    8. Consistently display professional demeanor, respect toward members and coworkers, value diversity, and maintain a high level of integrity.
    9. Ability to effectively communicate ideas and information, both orally and in writing.
    10. Display excellent customer service attributes.
    11. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to multi-task, and have close attention to detail.
    12. Banking or Financial Services background preferred.
    13. Middleware concepts and experience a plus.
    14. Oversee and administer operating system software upgrades. 
    15. Ensure the operability and security of the system.
    16. Ensure sensitive data is protected with the highest standard of security and confidentiality.

    Qualifications


    What You Will Need:

    1. Eight (8) to ten years of similar or related experience; financial institution experience desired.
    2. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field; or equivalent of specialized courses, training, and/or experience may be substituted year-for-year.
    3. Possess advanced proficiency in two or more current software programs, including the core processing system and third-party programs.
    4. Possess advanced proficiency in several additional software programs including Excel, Crystal Reports, SQL Developer, and other report writing tools.
    5. Some travel required to fulfill duties, at each branch as necessary.
