Job Summary:
This is an application MongoDB DBA role that requires project and automation background with good communication skills. An understanding of multiple DBMS is preferred. The DBA Consultant creates database structures for medium to large projects, provides support in the day to day operational management of Database Technologies and aids in software maintenance lifecycle management with little to no assistance. The DBA Consultant analyzes, consults and recommends different options for database performance tuning, database configuration implementation, creates and maintains scripts and test plan execution. Participates in Enterprise incident, change and problem management activities
Key Responsibilities:
A successful candidate will operate within the global management model with responsibility to:- Collaborate in the management and championing of emerging database technologies with concentration in the MongoDB
- Liaise, educate and advise business areas on data design, enterprise strategy and data enablement for NoSQL databases.
- Lead incident, security and performance analysis.
- Streamline redundant operations and automate recurring tasks through scripting and use of modern technologies.
- Support initiatives in Agile frameworks across multiple business units.
- Analyze database workloads, identify problem spots and design solutions to address these problems using monitoring and alerting tools.
- Educate and mentor other database administrators.
Essential Criteria:- This is an infrastructure MongoDB DBA role which requires project and automation background with good communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in a computer science, engineering, technology related field or equivalent experience
- Have a minimum of 8 years of experience as a data professional.
- Knowledge across one or more data store platforms (MongoDB, MySQL, Oracle, Redis, SQL Server)

Preferred Criteria:- Experience evaluating and implementing new technologies
- Experience with one or more of the following NoSQL databases: MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis or Snowflake
- Experience with Cloud providers (particularly AWS) and open source automation software.
- Experience with one or more of the following technologies: GitHub, Jenkins, Ansible, Terraform, Cloud Formation, Python, Kafka, Spark, Kubernetes, Docker.
- Experience with a programming framework like Unix Shell, Power Shell, Python, Java, NodeJS, etc.
- Experience with 20 TB databases
- Familiarity with Agile, Pivotal Cloud Foundry and continuous delivery environments
- Familiarity with security standards and procedures like encryption, redaction and tokenization
- Familiarity with the P&C insurance industry.
- Familiarity with Project Management concepts and methodologies.
- Can perform basic capacity planning analyses of volume metrics and trends for currently existing databases, based on resource utilization and projected business plans
- Demonstrates mastery of data modeling in practical applications of a difficult nature
- Expert knowledge in the performance monitoring and tuning of multiple DBMSs and in the use of multiple DB monitoring tools
- An organizational expert in physical database design
- Has the ability to install software using vendor-supplied and company-developed procedures

Compensation offered for this role is $84,500.00-$149,750.00 per year and is based on experience and qualifications.
