General Description:
Reporting into the Director of Digital Strategy, Surf Internet is looking for a Database Administrator who will be responsible for collaboratively managing the databases which enable CRM and MarTech strategy with sales, marketing and operational leaders, driving customer adoption, developing new capabilities, creating reports, improving existing processes, deploying new processes, and supporting users to accelerate growth and scale. This is an ideal position for

As a DBA at Surf, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our marketing data infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and efficient data handling. The ideal candidate will have expertise in HubSpot, Azure Databricks, SQL, as well as proficiency in either Python or Node.js. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the

Job Role and Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain database systems to support marketing operations, ensuring data integrity, security, and performance.
• Collaborate with HubSpot integrations with other marketing platforms and systems, optimizing data flows and workflows.
• Configure and maintain Azure Databricks environments for data processing, analysis, and reporting.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts for data manipulation and extraction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify database requirements and implement solutions to meet business needs.
• Monitor database performance and capacity, proactively identifying and addressing issues to ensure optimal performance.
• Implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulations and internal standards.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for database-related issues, resolving them in a timely manner.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in database administration, marketing technology, reverse ETL, data activation methods, and geography/location intelligence.
• Document database configurations, processes, and procedures for knowledge sharing and training purposes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Database Administrator, preferably in a marketing or digital environment.
• Proficiency in HubSpot for marketing automation and CRM management.
• Strong knowledge of Azure Databricks for data processing and analytics.
• Expertise in SQL, with the ability to write complex queries and optimize database performance.
• Proficiency in either Python or Node.js for scripting and automation.
• Experience with data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing concepts.
• Familiarity with reverse ETL methodologies for syncing operational data back to transactional databases.
• Knowledge of data activation methods, including audience segmentation, personalization, and targeted marketing campaigns.
• Experience with geography or location intelligence tools and techniques, such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems), geospatial analysis, or location-based services.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
• Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate or HubSpot certifications are a plus.
