Overview

Partnership Solutions is currently seeking a Database Developer. The key function of this position is to collaborate with the Business and Data Solutions team to identify opportunities and deploy systemic tools to transform manual tasks and automate them to improve both operational effectiveness and upgrade process integrity to mitigate risk of loss.

The scope of this role also includes collaboration with functional areas throughout the enterprise to optimize the dissemination and reporting of key data elements and performance measures, as well as pursue process automation across the business and external vendors.

This position requires a solid grasp of SQL, strong analytical mindset, and hands on experience with data warehousing and ETL projects. The Database Developer will have some programming and application development background (Python, C#, JavaScript, etc.) and experience with analytical reporting / business intelligence suites (Tableau, PowerBI, SAS, etc.). A background in healthcare data and a fundamental understanding of managed care operations is desirable.

This position is virtual. Occasional travel to Partnership Solutions offices may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the establishment and maintenance of the data warehouse.
• Generate reports / dashboards necessary to successfully operate the business and establish strategy.
• Participate in end-to-end architectural design and development lifecycle for new data.
• Participate in cross-functional team collaboration to understand customer requirements, design prototypes, and optimize existing data.
• Develop, test, and document software code for data extraction, ingestion, transformation, cleaning, and analytics.
• Collaborate to maintain ETL pipelines and between vendors. Develop processes and procedures that allows the automated collection of healthcare data to streamline the reconciliation of eligibility and revenue from all premium payment sources and the payments of related claims expenditures.
• Collaborate with internal team members as well as external representatives from third-party vendors to ensure integrity of processing to comply with Federal and State regulatory requirements.
• Partner with business functions across the enterprise to capture and report out metrics specific to their respective functional areas and to ensure the monitoring of critical business and operational activities.
• Support file and data exchanges between vendors including but not limited to claim files, response files, formulary files, eligibility, and encounter files.

Qualifications

Required

• A minimum of 4 years of demonstrated experience in database development.
• Expertise and direct experience with database development, implementation of stored procedures and functions, and performance tuning of SQL databases.
• Strong experience developing with SQL Server.
• Demonstrated experience with data warehousing and ETL projects.
• Experience with analytical reporting / business intelligence suites (Tableau, PowerBI, SAS, etc.).
• 2 years  of experience in Managed Care within the IT or Data Collection environment.
  • Experience in multiple programming languages and application development tools, such as C#, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Experience in application integration, code migrations and version control processes.
• Strong problem-solving and risk assessment skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills tailored to the appropriate management level.
• Strong interpersonal skills exhibiting diplomacy and ability to effectively influence others.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite.
• Experience working collaboratively with multiple departments in fast-paced environment.

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field and a minimum of 4 years of database development experience.
• 4 years of experience in Managed Care within the IT or Data Collection environment.
