Database Engineer plans, designs, develops, and manages an organization's databases to ensure efficient data storage, access, and security. Collaborates with users to design, code, test, debug, and deploy databases that meet requirements and organizational needs. Being a Database Engineer writes queries, stored procedures and functions for database development. Monitors databases' performance, scalability, and security and modifies procedures to optimize database designs. Additionally, Database Engineer evaluates existing database design to determine necessary updates, performance tuning, and integration requirements. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of database technologies and solid coding and computer system skills. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Database Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Database Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. - Maintain process maps and pricing data from vendors.
- Coordinate the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database servers and applications.
- Analyze and identify errors presented in databases and applications, in turn determine the root cause and possible solutions.
- Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in appropriate format and in a timely manner.
- Provide proactive and reactive data management support.
- Coordinate and communicate with vendor IT departments.
- Perform other duties as needed.
Competencies:- Ability to organize/analyze large volumes of data.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to function well in a team environment, display professional maturity and interact with all levels of management.
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, including the ability to make clear and timely decisions.
Requirements:- High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's Degree ideal.
- Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint with the ability to quickly learn various in-house software applications.
- Aptitude to work with minimal supervision, set goals, create, and implement action plans and monitor progress towards goals.
- Prior experience in IT related role a plus.
