    Job Description

    COMC is looking to hire a SQL Database Engineer who will report to the Senior Engineering Manager. The SQL Database Engineer is responsible for creation and improvement of SQL code and management of database servers. 

    Job Responsibilities

    • Write and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and views, and provide review and feedback on SQL written by software developers
    • Assist developers with complex query tuning and schema refinement
    • Apply data modeling techniques to ensure development and implementation support efforts meet integration and performance expectations
    • Manage SQL Server databases through multiple product lifecycle environments, from development to mission-critical production systems
    • Configure and maintain database servers and processes, including monitoring of system health and performance, to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
    • Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
    • Provide 24x7 support for critical production systems
    • Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
    • Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members
    • SQL Development: Write / Troubleshoot SQL Code and Design
    • Provide Query / Script Support to other Departments / Systems
    • Business Analysis / Report Writing
    • Performance Tuning and Optimization using Native Monitoring and Troubleshooting Tools
    • Uphold Company values, practices, and C.A.R.D. culture
    • Complete other duties as assigned

    Qualifications


    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with 4 or more years of practical Database Administration experience; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
    • SQL coding 2 -4 years
    • SQL Server management 2-4 years
    • Microsoft Azure Cloud – 1-2 years (Preferred)
    • Deep understanding of SQL Server database structures, theories, principles/practices

     

     

    Additional Qualifications

    • Excellent verbal communication skills.
    • Knowledgeable about professional sporting industry (NBA, NFL, MLB etc.) is a plus.
    • Interested in learning about the trading card industry.

     

    Work Location

    • Preferred Location – Can be either Remote or onsite in Washington State.
    • Opportunity for Remote work – This can either be an onsite role in WA or remote anywhere in the United States.
