Database Engineer plans, designs, develops, and manages an organization's databases to ensure efficient data storage, access, and security. Collaborates with users to design, code, test, debug, and deploy databases that meet requirements and organizational needs. Being a Database Engineer writes queries, stored procedures and functions for database development. Monitors databases' performance, scalability, and security and modifies procedures to optimize database designs. Additionally, Database Engineer evaluates existing database design to determine necessary updates, performance tuning, and integration requirements. Possesses comprehensive knowledge of database technologies and solid coding and computer system skills. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Database Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Database Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience.     Position/Job Description:
    • This labor category is intended to serve as a field service engineer for the installation,
      troubleshooting, repair and testing of hull, mechanical, electrical, weapons and electronic systems aboard Foreign Military Sales ships.
    • Conducting site visits, monitoring schedules, and supervising technicians.
    • Running field operations, offering technical support, and troubleshooting on-site issues.
    • Ensuring on-site efficiency and safety at all times.
    • Estimating costs, approving project designs, and preparing contracts.
    • Analyzing data, monitoring expenditure, and drafting progress reports.
    • Overseeing equipment testing, maintenance, installation, and planning.
    • Mitigating risk, ensuring compliance, and evaluating environmental impact.
    • Directing staff, contractors, engineers, and other on-site personnel.
    • Meeting with clients and stakeholders.
    • Drafting and submitting reports to superiors and other key individuals.

    Experience Requirements:
    • Six (6) years of progressive experience is required in the servicing of ship or submarine systems including the planning of the field services; four (4) years of that experience is required to have been obtained servicing hardware aboard ships or submarines.

    Educational Requirements:
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
