    Position Title: Marketing Manager

    Location: Nampa, ID

    Position Summary:

    The Marketing & Branded Fuels Manager is responsible for attracting buyers and purchasing agents to the company’s products and services, maintaining sales growth, retention of customers, customer satisfaction, and oversight of the marketing department. The function of this position is to successfully drive the sales and marketing goals and objectives of the Gas & Fuel Division while establishing positive working relationships with current and potential customers.


    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manages sales territory as a business to maximize sales
    • Meet with existing customers to evaluate satisfaction and determine future needs.
    • Identify potential customers and initiate meetings to promote products and services. Assist to identify, develop, and evaluate marketing strategy, based on knowledge of organizational objectives, market characteristics, and cost and markup factors.
    • Develops and maintains in-depth knowledge of the product, market and customers. Continuously develops and improves product knowledge, communication and selling skills through self-learning and active participation in agreed training programs
    • Establishes and manages high quality customer relationships by maintaining knowledge of brand sales messaging, scheduling and following-up with clients, and achieving or exceeding sales targets. Respond to customer questions about products, prices, availability, programs and credit terms.
    • Develop pricing strategies, balancing organizational objectives and customer satisfaction. Negotiate details of contracts and payments.
    • Use sales forecasting and strategic planning to ensure the sale and profitability of products, lines, or services, analyzing business developments and monitoring market trends.
    • Coordinate and participate in promotional activities and trade shows, working with developers, advertisers, and production managers, to market products and services.
    • Attend trade shows, company events and promotional activities to increase brand awareness and build customer relationships throughout the year.
    • Ensure branded customers are in compliance with the terms of agreement and displaying current and approved Point of Purchase (POP) material. Assist with rebranding a retail customer, work with the branded wholesaler, imaging company and customer to coordinate items and establish timeline.
    • Review and respond to secret shopping surveys by implement changes to improve the location’s score based on survey results.
    • Hire, train, and manage a team of direct reports including office support.
    • Assign and monitor clerical and administrative responsibilities and tasks among office staff. Allocate available resources to enable successful task performance. Co-ordinate office staff activities to ensure maximum efficiency.
    • Assign or delegate responsibilities to employees within department. Evaluate and manage staff performance. Coach, mentor and discipline staff. Manage internal staff relations.
    • Design and implement office policies and procedures. Oversee adherence to office policies and procedures. Analyze and monitor internal processes. Implement procedural and policy changes to improve operational efficiencies.
    • Work with General Manager of Wholesale regarding the budget and financial plans for the department. Prepare forecasting of budgets annually to set goals and expectations.
    • Maintain and uphold customer relationships to maximize profitability. Resolve customer’s complaints and inquiries.
    • Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with Parkland USA’s policy and procedure.
    • Employee is expected to set priorities and meet deadlines. Employee is responsible for planning and carrying out assignments, resolving conflicts that arise, informing and coordinating with others as expected. Employee is accountable for ensuring the technical accuracy of their work and maintaining good working relations, both internal and external to Parkland USA. Self-direction and motivation are also expected.
    • Employee must demonstrate safe work and risk management practices. Communicate and enforce all safety and security issues. Report and process all employee and/or customer incidents or unsafe acts in accordance with Parkland USA’s policy and procedure.
    • Ensure that confidentiality of data collected and stored is maintained.
    • Must meet performance expectations. Must complete all duties as assigned.
    • Travel to sites to review and audit store branding.
    • Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required–Approximately up to 50%.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Finance or related field OR a High School Diploma or GED equivalent paired with 5 or more years of experience in business management or related field
    • Minimum of 5-7years of management experience Proven skills in business and financial management
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Proven ability to cope with conflict, stress and crisis situations Knowledge of Microsoft Office
    • Minimum of five years of experience in business management, planning and financial oversight
    • A minimum of five years of experience in personnel management, including hiring, supervision, and evaluation
    • Strong analytical skills and the ability to recognize opportunities to improve the business results and/or profitability
    • Record of success driving an efficient and profitable department
    • Proven ability to understand the needs of business accounts and converting those needs into sales
    • Experience in designing and managing expected operating budgets
