Lollypop Farm, the Humane Society of Greater Rochester, has been helping animals and people since 1873. Our organization cares for around 7500 animals each year and makes possible a variety of programs to address issues that contribute to the surrender of unwanted animals. As an open-admission organization, we accept every animal in need of help.
The Development Database Manager supports all development initiatives through the management of the Raiser’s Edge and Qgiv databases, including gift processing, prospect management, data analysis and reporting, security administration, maintenance and training.
Essential Job Duties:
- Serves as subject matter expert for The Raiser’s Edge, The Raiser’s Edge NXT and Qgiv fundraising software. Trains staff, creates and executes complex database queries and reports as well as imports and exports of data for all fundraising needs including mail files, thank you calls, identifying/tracking major and planned gift prospects, data analysis and financial reports
- Supervises the Donor Relations Associate to ensure accurate data entry. Oversees the design and implementation of efficient systems for ensuring quality control, data integrity, gift processing, prospect research and relationship management. Documents all Standard Operating Procedures
- Assists in data analytics for shelter operations
- Liaise with finance department to generate reports necessary for budget reconciliation, audit preparation, tax return preparation, data analysis, budget and grant preparation and reporting
- Provides input on data entry guidelines and improves processes as needed
- Assists in prospect research through tools such as iWave, MarketSmart, and others. Responsible for providing required donor data and ensuring the results are uploaded back in the Raiser’s Edge. Identifies each fundraiser’s goals, projects and obstacles and provides data and analysis as needed
- Proactively identifies and reports on trends in data which will impact fundraising initiatives
- Identifies new major gifts prospects based on analysis of gift history and research data
- Prepares reports and queries upon request for various events, board reports, donor recognition and statistical reporting. Provides support to staff with queries as needed
- Supports the Vice President for Donor Relations, Vice President for Development and Communications, Director of Development, and Donor Relations department in major gift initiatives
- Ensures a steady stream of new prospects as being capable of charitable gifts of at least $5,000 or Legacy gifts. Conducts prospect research
- Protects and maintains donor confidentiality
- Event support- attends major fundraising events and assists as needed
- Assists with gift entry as required
- Manages online gift recording for Qgiv
- Manages development volunteers, overseeing the Obituary Program, batch/gift entry and in-kind gift entry. Schedules volunteers as needed for additional projects
- Ensures all data transfers from Raiser’s Edge to Financial Edge properly mapped so that all donations are credited to the proper general ledger fund and the correct fundraising goal category
- Works closely with the Communications Department to provide donor email lists for various email solicitation and information blast efforts
- Reports on Communications driven events, such as Barktober Fest and Telethon, during the planning, deployment and closing phases of events
- Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable state/federal laws
- Observe all safety rules and regulations for self and others
- Perform other duties as requested to meet organization needs
