Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Writes SQL and other code, runs database queries and selects customer and other data, and develops and distributes audiences (lists of data on intended recipients and viewers of marketing messages, i.e., current and/or prospective customers.”) across channels such as e-mail, direct mail, applications on mobile devices, websites and paid media.
Creates, maintains and analyzes customer and pet database resources used in marketing programs. Activities include: (a) developing, recommending and implementing procedures for capturing customer and pet data, maintaining data quality, and performing data audits; and (b) training and conferring with database users.
Develops and recommends long-term plans for capturing, maintaining and using customer, pet and other marketing-related data.
Researches, develops and recommends data sources to add to customer and pet database to improve customer targeting and marketing campaign effectiveness.
Researches new developments and technologies in marketing (e.g., dynamic or personalized content, marketing automation, advanced segmentation, targeting, and re-targeting) and makes recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness of marketing activities.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, math, computer science, marketing, business administration or related field, 3 years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, data reporting, database marketing or related field, or an equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training.
Significant experience in applicable technologies or concepts including SQL and data warehousing and data mining; big data; web analytics solutions.
Experience in data governance, data profiling, data quality and system integration.
Analytic/modeling skills with understanding of statistical concepts. Comfortable using data to make recommendations and drive decisions.
Experience retrieving/summarizing transactional data sets and integrating those data with customer and merchandise data to develop new insights.
