· HS Diploma
· 18 years old
· Able to pass a fingerprint and background check, as well as a drug screening
· A love for working with young children
Preferred Qualifications
· Experience in the early childhood field
· Majoring in early childhood, elementary education, child development, or related field
· CPR and First Aid Certified (will be a requirement if hired; training provided)
Roles and Responsibilities of all staff
· Provide a safe and developmentally appropriate learning environment
· Help develop curriculum maps (lesson plans) with co-teacher
· Be respectful of all children and parents
· Ensure that equipment and toys are clean, safe and well maintained
· Be familiar with emergency procedures
· Provide various experiences and activities for children including songs, games and story telling
· Play with children; this will often mean getting down on the floor to interact with them
· Establish routines and provide positive guidance
· Provide a safe and secure environment for children to feel comfortable
· Implement positive discipline when required
· Clearly and effectively communicate in a manner that children understand
· Attend to the personal hygiene of each child in your care, including changing diapers or soiled clothing and washing hands
· Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible
· Assist in the cleaning and straightening of the child care rooms at the end of the day, as well as putting away any outside equipment
· Any other duties as assigned by Director to make sure children and families’ needs are being met
