Responsibilities:
The Child Care Center Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing a rich teaching and learning environment for children, maintaining an organized and safe environment, and implementing daily activities that are developmentally appropriate. The Child Development Center Director will oversee and lead the Child Care Center Teacher in the implementation of the daily activities and ensure compliance with state licensing regulations and guidelines.
Key
Responsibilities:
-Planning and implementing daily program of activities developmentally
appropriate based on Louisiana Department of Education Early Learning
Guidelines.
-Planning and gathering necessary tools (documentation, TS Gold, etc) to
assess the needs of the individual child for curriculum planning
-Maintaining program quality, adhering to all state licensing agencies and
regulations
-Possessing knowledge of Teaching Strategies GOLD, Louisiana Pathways, CLASS
assessment system, research based practices, developmentally appropriate
practices
-Reviewing each child’s progress and develop plan to promote each child’s
growth and development
-Maintaining positive relationships with children and families with open
communication concerning all aspects of the child’s day
-Mentoring student interns
-Attending required trainings mandated by state licensing
-Maintaining records of children’s progress
-Maintaining confidentiality of information
-Maintaining good communication with enrolled families by responding
appropriately to their interests, requests, and needs
-Preparing for special events; including, but not limited to, holidays,
dress-up days, deadline dates, parent-teacher conferences, scholastic book fair
week, picture days, staff work/planning days, Homecoming parade, Mardi Gras
parade, Winter Wonderland, Spring Fling, Pre-K celebration, special guests,
awareness activities, etc
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
-At least 5 months of experience working with children.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Technical Degree/Associate's Degree/Bachelor's Degree
-Child Development Associated (CDA) certification
-Must have, or be able to obtain, the Louisiana Department of Education Early Childhood Ancillary Certificate
