Day Care Center Teacher oversees the educational activities within the day care classroom. Structures the curriculum and monitors students' progress to ensure activities are meeting the children's needs. Being a Day Care Center Teacher maintains a clean, safe, and nurturing environment. Holds conferences with parents to discuss child's growth and development. Additionally, Day Care Center Teacher typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. We are in need of a strong , dedicated teacher to work with our youngest children, Infants. This is a full time permanent position. Prior experience in a licensed facility is required. College level coursework in early childhood is desired.
Duties:
- Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities for preschool children
- Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children to learn and grow
- Foster social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development through play-based learning
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes diversity and cultural understanding
- Monitor and assess each child's progress and provide regular feedback to parents
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and coordinate classroom activities
- Maintain accurate records of each child's attendance, behavior, and developmental milestones
Qualifications:
-Nc Early Childhood Credential or willingness to get it required
- Associates degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred
- Previous experience in a licensed childcare facility required
- Knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to effectively manage a classroom and promote positive behavior management techniques
- Understanding of special education needs and strategies for supporting children with diverse abilities
- CPR and First Aid certification preferred
Skills:
- Early childhood education: Knowledge of age-appropriate teaching methods and curriculum for children birth to 1 year old
- Child welfare: Understanding of child protection policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of all children
- Experience with children: Ability to connect with young children, build rapport, and create a nurturing learning environment
- Childhood development: Knowledge of developmental milestones and stages of childhood development
