Job brief

We are looking for a Day Care Teacher to encourage the healthy intellectual and psychological growth of the children in our facility. You will teach and supervise them while also motivating them to use their mental capacities and exercise their imagination.

Responsibilities

• Design and follow a full schedule of activities and discover suitable teaching material
• Balance your teaching between logical and social exercises
• Provide basic care and care giving activities
• Use a wide range of teaching methods (stories, media, indoor or outdoor games, drawing etc) to enhance the member’s abilities
• Evaluate child’s performance to make sure they are on the right learning track
• Remain in constant communication with the responsible party and update them on the progress of their love one
• Observe child’s interactions and promote the spirit of concord
• Identify behavioral problems and determine the right course of action
• Collaborate with other colleagues
• Adhere with teaching standards and safety regulations as established by the official sources
• Provide daily planned therapeutic activities, recreation, and programs for participants to stimulate mental activity, communication and self expression including reality orientation exercises, crafts, music, educational, and cultural programs, games, etc.
• Assist children with meals, setups, feeding, and special diets.
• Work safely within the facility and on its grounds to minimize hazards to participants, employees, and visitors.
• General office duties, answer telephones, take messages, make business related telephone calls, greet visitors, run errands, keep facility clean and odor free, clean up facility, and other duties as needed.

Requirements

• 1 Step PPD
• Proven experience as a child care / daycare teacher
• Excellent knowledge of child development and up-to-date education methods
• Methodical and creative
• Patience, flexibility and love for children
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Certificate in first aid and CPR

• High School Diploma/GED

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $13.00 - $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
