Dean of Students Job Description

Middle Village Preparatory Charter School

9 AM- 6:00 PM

Responsibilities:

Student Discipline Management:

 Develop and implement policies and procedures to promote positive behavior and

discipline among students.

 Investigate and resolve disciplinary issues and complaints in a timely and effective

manner.

 Work closely with teachers and staff to monitor student behavior and ensure a safe

learning environment.

 Develop and conduct training for teachers and staff on effective discipline

management strategies.

 Communicate regularly with teachers, staff, and administration to ensure effective

coordination of discipline

 Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and community organizations to

promote positive relationships and support student success.

 Maintain open communication and accessibility to students, parents, and staff to

address concerns, answer questions, and provide support as needed.

 Perform other tasks, duties, and responsibilities as assigned by the principal/Director of

Operation

QUALIFICATIONS: BA, at least 2 years’ experience working in a school environment,

experience as a Dean of Students is preferable.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

 Salary- $75,000 and up depending on experience

 12-month position

 days sick – 10 per school year

 vacation
