Dean of Business manages administrative functions of the college of business. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Business leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Business requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Business manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Business typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.     Description:
    East Texas Baptist University invites applications for the dean of the Fred Hale School of Business. The position begins May 2024. The School offers Bachelor of Business Administration degrees in accounting, management, and marketing, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, and a Master of Business Administration. The position is a ten and a half (10.5) month position with twelve (12) teaching hours per academic year. The dean develops and articulates a vision and associated goals for the school, coordinates the schedule of classes, supervises the academic curriculum for the school of business and leads the faculty of the school. The dean also assists in developing strategies for recruitment, retention, and growth of both graduate and undergraduate students.
    Qualifications:
    Ideal candidates will possess a doctorate in a business-related field. Preference will be given to candidates with university teaching experience and a record of progressive leadership experience. Candidates must have a strong commitment to academic rigor and teaching, the ability to communicate well with students and colleagues. The ideal candidate will have experience working through the business school accreditation process (ACBSP or AACSB). Candidates must possess an appreciation and commitment to teach in Christian higher education through the integration of biblical faith and learning. Candidates must demonstrate a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Faculty must live lifestyles consistent with the University’s biblical standards of morality, temperance, stewardship, as well as membership and active participation in the faculty members’ local Christian church.
