REPORTS TO: BUILDING PRINCIPAL JOB GOAL: To help students resolve non-academic situations that may interfere with obtaining the greatest benefit from school programs, services, and offerings. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. Assist the principal and assistant principal in the responsibility for protecting the health and welfare of students. 2. Resolve discipline problems in a fair, just and timely manner, and assist in maintaining records of disciplinary action taken. 3. Confer with parents, teachers, counselors, support service personnel and students on matters of discipline and welfare. 4. Assist the principal, assistant principal, counselor and social worker on matters of student attendance. 5. Make student referrals to building CARE teams when appropriate. 6. Serve as LEA for IEP meetings. 7. Supervise after-school activities and extracurricular events. 8. Assist in the interpreting and implementing school and district programs, policies, and the procedures for students, parents, staff and community. 9. Assist the principal and assistant principal in the development, implementation and administration of campus control and security practices. 10. Assist in the maintenance of emergency response plans and procedures. 11. Assist the principal and assistant principal in supervising students at school activities that occur both at and away from school. 12. Assist with the Spartan RISE Suspension Deferral Program. 13. Perform such other duties as may be determined by the administrative staff within the parameters of the master agreement, Board of Education policies, state statutes, and administrative rules. QUALIFICATIONS 1. Current valid Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction teacher certification in the respective classification and DPI Code 51 – Principal (preferred) or enrolled in/or the completion of a leadership program. 2. Minimum of 5 years successful teaching experience. 3. Experience providing educational leadership. 4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
