Dean of Communications manages administrative functions of the college of communications. Develops college strategic initiatives and participates in university long-term planning and policy setting. Being a Dean of Communications leads college in fundraising and cultivating relationships with donors. Provides senior level administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, institutional assessment and improvement, human resource, faculty development and performance appraisals, budget and finance, and facilities planning and management. Additionally, Dean of Communications requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Dean of Communications manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Dean of Communications typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.   • The Project Manager – Construction manages the full construction project lifecycle, from initial project planning phases through completion. Acts as a liaison between the client and project team members regarding changes or problems. Coordinates all direct communication with client and contractors.

    Responsibilities

    • Oversees all local operations in the assigned market, including supervision of employees and contractors to organize and ensure quality of work for fiber drops (aerial and underground), as well as in-home installations.
    • Coordinates project resources and tracks project progress against established timelines and schedules.
    • Tracks project progress against milestones, budgetary guidelines, or other performance indicators and prepares and delivers reports to management.
    • Acts as a liaison between the client and project team members regarding changes or problems.
    • Selects, negotiates with, and coordinates the work of vendors, contractors, or sub-contractors.

    Requirements

    Education and Experience:

    Typically requires a bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of experience. Requires 1 years of Telecommunications installation experience, and in leadership positions. Fiber drop installation experience preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Ability to stand, walk, sit
    • Ability to use hands to handle or feet
    • Ability to reach with hands and arms
    • Ability to climb and balance
    • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl
    • Ability to lift up to 75lbs
    • Ability to maintain all safety expectations
    • Ability to drive covered vehicle
